A friend recommended West Street Cafe. They appeared to be understaffed and the service wasn't as quick as other Bar Harbor... restaurants that we patroned. The restaurant is kinda no frills. It can seat a lot of people as the have tables for 4 and 6people, with some larger seating areas. Don't expect the decor to wow you...you're there for the food. ???? The food wasexcellent. We had the clam chowder, a lobster dinner, linguine with lobster, and the blue berry pie! All was so good! I willeasily have the linguine again and it easily rivals any Italian restaurant dish. Prices were reasonable for restaurants in thearea. Glad West Street Cafe was recommended to us! Will be back. Read more
Great service (friendly, helpful, quick). The clam chowder was bland, but the stuffed mushrooms were better than expected (tons... of seafood filling, well-seasoned). My partner said the crabby patty was good (bioche bun was nice, good flavor and texture ofthe actual patty). Nice vibe, beautiful restaurant, clean restrooms. Waited only about 15 minutes and it was crowded. Great service, food was delicious. Best Lobster Bisque and the chicken parm was... crispy outside, tender inside. They even subbed fries for pasta. Blueberry pie with ice cream is a MUST. Absolutely a greatplace to eat and prices in line with other restaurants in the area. Read more
Fabulous restaurant that is crisp and clean, light and airy with breathtaking ocean views. The decor was modern and fresh. We... ordered the whole lobster and it was truly delicious. The meal came with clam chowder, 2 other sides and dessert too. Theblueberry pie was wonderful. Service was polite, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit tremendously. Read more
Best meal we've had thus far in Bar Harbor. Everyone expects you to want seafood when in Maine but it can get a bit "old" when... every restaurant sells pretty much only seafood. The chicken in tarragon sauce was delicious, mashed potatoes that were not dry,the clam chowder was better than the lobster bisque he had down the street according to my fiancé. The onion rings are so tastyand not those big thick gross ones but the nice thin crispy ones. Great service and atmosphere. Our waitress, Kristin, was veryfriendly and attentive. Great spot for dinner in Bar Harbor! Our waitress Rachelle was attentive and knowledgeable. We started with the seafood stuffed... mushrooms and they were YUM! We then split the lobster bisque and fish and chips. The fish and chips were awesome, some of thebest tartar sauce I’ve ever had. Lobster bisque had good flavor and it was a good portion size for the price but I wish therewas a little more lobster meat throughout. They had a nice selection of beers, wine and cocktails and the views werespectacular. It was a nice change from all of the touristy spots the have in the downtown area. Read more
We enjoyed our dining experience at West Street Cafe. The location provides views of the harbor and the upstairs dining has open... windows with a nice breeze. My wife ordered a spicy margarita which was awesome and I had a honey beer on tap which was reallygood. They have an expansive drinks and beer menu. She ordered lobster bisque which she gave a thumbs up to, as well as salmonwhich was flavorful and not dry at all. I had a special chicken sandwich with fries and it was very good. One of the best chowders money can buy. Fresh, creamy, and pure satisfaction. The fish and chips can not be more fresh, lightly... battered, and delicious. Staff are very attentive, atmosphere and view are breath taking. Definitely recommend this place.Don't forget the Italian lemon cream cake at the end. It is a slice from heaven. Read more
