Well the honeymoons over. After years of going to this chicken house I'm through,it was bad enough that they did away with sit... down service that most thought was temporary but today I placed an order for pick up and when I picked it up I found out theynow charge 3.5% for me to use my credit card and when I ask he said it was to offset bank fees. Well I'm sorry but bank fees area part of doing business and I'm not going to pay any part of your fees,it would also have been nice to be afforded theopportunity to be informed of the extra fee when I placed my order at least then I could have gone elsewhere,but no matterelsewhere is where I will be going from now on. Had a great experience with the food and staff. They are currently only doing take out, which I wasn't aware of. When I let them... know I was from out of town and heading home. Barberton Chicken? what else is there to say, it puts us on the map. Everyone here in town has their favorite chicken... restaurant, mine is White House. Barberton chicken is hard to explain, either you love it or hate it, I love it. White Housealways has fresh chicken and perfect breading and on Thursday they have breast meat chicken strips that are reasonably pricedand it?s my favorite selection on the menu. Another reason I love White House is because of their Hot Rice, if your not fromBarberton chances are you have no idea what Hot Rice is. Lol. But come on into town and try it, all of our chicken houses haveHot Rice but WhiteHouse, in my opinion, has the best. Currently living in Ga. Every time we head to Akron we always eat at least 3 meals from here. Living in kenmore we usually... had chicken at least 2 times a month and it was always a treat growing up. It has been a staple in our household for well over50 years. Then best thing. Nothing has changed. The hot sauce,fries and chicken just gives me a yummy glimpse into mypast. I wish we can order it to be sent over state lines. I would gladly pay extra for that great food. Horrible. $17.45 !!!!! All over cooked. Friench fries not edible!! Over cooked , some burnt dripping in oil. Had to throw them... away. Not done on inside. The chicken over cooked and totally dripping in oil. I will NEVER order from them again inspite ofliving in the neighborhood. Last week we were visiting Akron and I had a hankering for some Barberton Ohio chicken.I chose the original White House... location.We were a party of 6 and had our meals server family style,the chicken was just as I remembered tasty and not toodry,cooked to perfection with a slight crunch, the french fries ,hot rice and Cole slaw were also outstanding and very tasty,this sentiment was shared by all. The restaurant is in appearance as it always was, plain and drab BUT we came for the foodand not the obeisance. The service was barely adequate ,the waitress forgot the bread and butter but made sure we had plenty ofnapkins when we were served the delicious,hot ,wonderful comfort food. Our 3-Thigh dinners were flawless, as usual. This is the absolute best Barberton Chicken choice in town! The only issue we had... was that the iced tea tasted off, either tainted or turning.
