My wife and I arrived at Palladio at 11:55 for our 12-noon lunch reservation on Sunday. We thought arriving 5 minutes early for... our reservation was the polite thing to do. Apparently, we were wrong. We found the door locked and no signs of life. Admittedly, the restaurant doesn?t officially open until noon, but we were nonetheless surprised. At 12:01, I saw someonemoving in the dining room. So, I knocked on the door to be sure they realized we were standing outside (in the midday heat). Bythen we had been joined by another party awaiting entry. At this point, a gentleman (the ?host?) opened the door while staringat me angrily and asked in a scolding tone whether I had rapped on his door. I said yes. He then told me the restaurant opensat 12! I simply said that that time had already passed. In the end the food was quite good (especially our first two courses)and of course the wine was good also. The service from the various servers was friendly and efficient. Only the rudeness ofthe ?host? to us (his guests) soured the whole event. Read more
The restaurant was super cute and cozy. The menu was short which is nice to see as I assumed they would specialize in a few... plates. We ordered the Baled phylo brie. Upscale and classy restaurant, yet it feels stuffy and not very welcoming. The staff is efficient yet not welcoming. They... welcome you with a glass of complimentary bubbles, a good one. The portions are small. The prices are high even for lunch. Thefood is high quality, well made, yet just average outcome. The bread and olives plate is good. Read more
Upscale restaurant within Barboursville winery. Good for a nice romantic meal if you?re in the area. Nice, intimate ambiance.
Great ambience, and the food was delicious! The servers were attentive, the wine excellent, and the extras they threw in as an... anniversary celebration were a nice touch. Definitely a once a year type restaurant (for us anyways) but it was so worth it!Prepare to pay top dollar and enjoy every second :) Read more
The atmosphere and food were both delightful. Unfortunately, the service was cold and borderline rude. Also, they were very slow... and inattentive. The vineyard has the best wine in Virginia but we will not be returning to the restaurant. Read more
