Our Hotel recommended this place for a bite to eat. So we walked in and found a table by the bar, just as our waitress came... to take our order another waitress said we needed to go to the back of the restaurant and wait for a table or we could sit atthe bar. So we choose to sit at the bar. The drinks were great. We placed an order and I make a special request to havecheese added to my sandwich. When the food came there was no cheese. I told the bartender and she asked if I wanted her toget me a piece. I told her no cause it wouldn't be melted. I did not care for the steak sandwich at all. But the southwestburger and the fried green tomatoes were great. When the bill came the bartender made a point of pointing out that she addedthe cheese and the kitchen staff are the ones who didn't follow the order but she never took the charge off of my bill. So wetook it off in her tip. We are not sure if this would be a place we would go back to when we come back into town. Read more
We had to eat here during our time in Bardstown. Friendly faces and quick food! We ordered chicken and waffles and the Kentucky... BLT with chips, home fries and Mac n cheese. I ordered the pimento cheese on the side from previous reviews and I'm glad I did,I used about half. Food was great! I wouldn't eat here every night (a little greasy) but I don't think it's worth the bump downto 4 stars. The flavor of the chicken and waffles was amazing, chicken was tender, waffle soft and the maple was perfect. TheBLT was great - fried green tomatoes and crisp bacon with pimento cheese. They have a large bourbon selection and prices arereasonable. We parked a few blocks away and walked, but street parking is free. Edit: Removed a star because one of us got GIcramps/sick a few hours after eating here. I thought it was a fluke but after reading other reviews, it might not becoincidental. No way to know for sure. Great food and great service. It was our first meal here in Kentucky. I saw this was a top spot to go and was not let down. I... got the chicken fried chicken and it was delicious. Hot Brown is a Kentucky staple and was delicious as well. We are from theeast coast so you do not find food like this back home. Would 100% recommend if you are in the area. This was a 10 on a scale of 1 - 5!! We had the bourbon-bon pancake for an breakfast appetizer and was shared by 4 of us and had... leftovers. Our friends each had hangover skillet breakfast which they loved. I had the crab salad Benedict special w/ grits andcheese. Amazing! My wife had the country breakfast and she loved it. The servings were plentiful and the employees were great!Our server was Raenne and she was wonderful. A great restaurant and bar in downtown Bardstown, Kentucky, serving Southern comfort foods that will keep you coming back for... more. It's a family run place with friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. Depending on when you drop in, there's also live musicto keep you entertained. My husband and I had a great meal here. Good sized portions and price. White gravy and fried chicken was delicious. Pork chops... cooked in sweet bourbon bbq sauce were my husband's favorite. Definitely try this restaurant. Service was great as well. Read more
