I have been told by friends that this place is the best Chinese in the area, but I?m skeptical of the cleanliness of the... kitchen. I?ve ordered sweet and sour chicken and seafood udon from them in separate occasions. Both times I?ve thrown up afterand gotten wicked stomach cramps. The quality of the food doesn?t seem right especially for the price. Read more

Great selection, reasonable prices. Service was friendly and efficient. Lo Mein and egg rolls were unremarkable but tasty. ... Shrimp with Lobster Sauce had visible pieces of lobster! Fried Calamari was just OK. Read more

It's a staple in Barre. They serve delicious food for reasonable prices, the bento boxes in particular are a favorite. There is... usually little to no wait time and the staff is also very friendly. Read more

After 3 or more years decided to give this place another try. The teriyaki chicken has sauce ladled on it, not marinated and... infused into the meat. Sauce was too sweet, not tangy. The appetizer sampler had boneless ribs that were very fatty and wasn'tcrispy. The crab wontons filling was very heavy on onion and not sweetness. Overall a huge disappointment. It's not often Ifeel good is unpalatable and sadly I won't return. Read more

Excellent food. Not greasy. Better quality. Also they have gluten free options and actually label them. Thanks so much for... allowing me to have my occasional Chinese still! Read more

To the point: There was a ton of hair in the Mongolian Beef I ordered last night. I put paper towel in this bowl of mine so that... you can see the hair better. (See attached photo!) Also, as others have mentioned, the quality of this place's food hasdefinitely gone down hill over the last couple of years. For instance, it seems like you definitely get more noodles and lessmeat with any dishes that include those two things. The General Tso's Chicken usually has a ton of overcooked pieces that arevery small and very hard. I could overlook most of this because the food is honestly still tasty, BUT look at all the hair inthe Mongolian Beef. This was taken straight from their container and transferred into one of my totally clean bowls because theyalso packed this thing into the bag in such a way that it leaked all over everything else. They happily issued me a refund, butjust for the Mongolian Beef. This is simply too disgusting to not let other people know about it. I would definitely want toknow if someone found THIS much hair in one of their meals. Absolutely disgusting! Read more

The place where I work, keeps ordering from these guys. I quite frankly, do not like their food and quality. I favor China Moon... and Grand Buffet much more than Asian Gourmet. Of the two orders I've had with this restaurant, first off, Coconut Chicken isNOT meant to be spicy! It also looked like very greasy and oiled up fish fillet slices that is trying to be chicken. What kindof idea of Coconut Chicken is this? You want a better idea of Coconut Chicken? Go to China Moon. The next order I've had fromthem, is Sesame Chicken, which turned out to be as disappointing. They give you these chunks of chicken which is kinda hard toeat. I much prefer the more smaller bits and pieces that are often served from China Moon, which by the way, has the best SesameChicken you'll find. Not with Asian Gourmet though, because their idea is to lightly coat the chicken which gives it a drywatery taste. All in all, I've not have gotten a good impression by this restaurant. I've been to better asian cuisines aroundother towns before ever having tasted this one and wow, it is significantly underwhelming. I'm going to stick to China Moon,Grand Buffet and wherever else that isn't Asian Gourmet. Read more
