Finally had the chance to visit this cute little spot again after literal YEARS of passing it. I forgot how much the atmosphere... is so inviting! Such a cute, old school diner feel. You can tell it is family run and they take pride in their food. I will saythat the dish I got had way too much of that diablo sauce they serve and it wasn't the best BBQ I've had, BUT it may have beenthe dish itself. They have a fantastic menu and I look forward to trying their other dishes! Check them out! It's worth it! Read more

Recently moved to the area and Canteen was recommended by some long-term residents. We were delighted by our experience here.... The interior is clean and cute with kind of an updated diner feel. The menu had a variety of BBQ and breakfast options and leftus wanting to go back to try more. We had the brisket burnt ends, which were amazing, a Keto Portabello skillet which was alsodelicious and waffle for my daughter. Everybody went home happy and full! We'll be back for sure. Read more

If you?re a fan of the good ole diner feel then get to canteen as soon as possible. They have all the diner classics that you... love but they throw in an exquisite barbecue twist. I opted for the Diablo pulled pork skillet and it was some of the bestbarbecue sauce I?ve ever tasted. (Diablo is a bit misleading. We been coming here for breakfast past few years, the brisket hash & eggs dish was dry & cold. My dish French toast was too... thick but d grilled ham w melted Brie & honey Dijon sauce made it very tasty. This is a perfect spot for breakfast. Located in downtown Barrington, Canteen restaurant is the place to go for delicious... briskets all day long. The food and service here is a 10/10. We tried the avocado toast with brisket & the smoked brisket witheggs. The brisket was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and I loved the smoky flavor. The Greek frappe iced coffee that wasrecommended by the host was amazing. I could have had two of those. The wait staff is so friendly and the restaurant has suchgood vibes.
