Tried the brisket bowl...untrimmed, thus 30+% fat...had to cut with a knife and the rice was crazy dirty (strange flavor)... Was... saved with the Batavia sauce (truly tasty)...bought a side of tots (over $1/tot), was ok, certainly not worth the price, staffwas very friendly and nice atmosphere ...real shame, heard good things... I'll stick to making my own brisket...makes me miss LaVerdad! Read more

Delicious and great service! Loved the atmosphere and music from the 30?s/40?s. We wanted to watch a particular football game... and they gladly put it on for us. We ordered brisket and ribs and loved every morsel. Highly recommend! Read more

Walk in, EMPTY. Maybe 4 tables seated. They seat us, uh oh, table wasn't cleaned. Waitress cleaned it, well maybe smeared food... around. I even got up so she could get to the end of the table but only cleaned 3/4 of the table top ???? why seat us at a cleantable, how else are you gonna get COVID, right? Appetizers took forever and a day, waitress came to us 3 times stating they werecoming up shortly but at least they were great tasting when finally arriving. Food took forever, sub par at best. Worlds bestfish fry...NOT. Small and not filling. The platter with 3 meats was ordered, nothing to write home about. Brisket was Luke warmand dry, good thing sauce was on the table sitting for who knows how many years. Came here with friends from out of town only tobe embarrassed by this place but at least I know to never go here again. I understand COVID hit a lot of businesses but theywill sink if this is the new normal. Read more

Hands down, the best fish fry!! You have to get the bacon appetizer with bourbon sauce. My husband wanted to drink the sauce... it's that delicious!! Sam served our drinks and dinner at the bar. He's another reason we'll definitely go back again andagain!! Read more

I'm giving it 4 stars because there was no wait on a Friday night. The atmosphere was good, the bartender and our wait staff was... excellent, and very friendly. The food was bland. I order the, "world's best fish fry," and it was quite disappointing. I wouldcompare it to a frozen fish out of the box! The best part of my Mac & cheese was the salt and pepper I added for flavor. Theappetizers weren't too bad. The other diners in our party all agreed that it was just okay. Please don't let this deter you fromtrying this place. We will go back again to see if maybe they just had an off night. When we go back, we'll update our review. Read more

We stopped by on a Saturday to use a meal deal from an app called Local Flavor that was close to expiration. I think it was $20... for $40 worth of food. The restaurant itself has a really cool vibe and an awesome looking bar area. The bartender who waitedon us was awesome. He was extremely attentive and made our dinner more enjoyable! My husband and I ordered a 3 meat combo withribs, pulled pork and brisket. The sides were hush puppies and smashed potatoes. My husband ordered a Hayburner beer and a BBQburger with a side of dirty rice and extra hush puppies to take home. The bill before the discount was a little over $40. Decent price for the amount of food. Before your food arrives, you are given complimentary cheesy biscuits. They were soft andpretty good. Although, I prefer the red-lobster style ones...haha! We used a couple of their house-made BBQ sauces to dip thebiscuits in. One was dark, sweet and had a molasses flavor while the other was tangy with more vinegar and a lot ofspices. The burger and rice were okay. The burger was not overly flavorful and the roll was kind of gummy and soggy. I wasn'tinto it unless I drenched it in their homemade BBQ sauce. The rice was pretty good but I prefer Cajun style dirty rice becauseit's more flavorful. I'll give the burger a C. The 3 meat combo was pretty good and I'd grade it a B+ because those hushpuppies were really good and the ribs were tasty. I do a lot of my own smoking/grilling, so I feel like I can be pretty honestin my review here. The brisket was nice and tender with only a hint of smoke flavor. I prefer a nicer smoke ring but againwith enough sauce, it was tasty. The pulled pork was a bit dry until I sauced it up and then it was good. The ribs fell offthe bone and were pretty tender. I appreciate the option of ribs with a dry rub, so I can choose to add sauce or not. Thesewere a little on the dry side but I enjoyed the flavor and fat to meat ratio. The potatoes were okay Read more

For my first time going here. It's not a bad place food was ok a bit dried out for prime rib.and corn bread was really dry. Ribs... and chicken was good. They didn't have any spicy bbq sauce. The waitress seem to rush you didn't care for her.(cori) she couldbe much friendlier. I would rate this place C++ to B Will try again to see if it's better Read more
