What an experience for my tastebuds!Exceeded my expectations! Being from the Maryland, I was excited to have some southern... food! I came here for a week-long training and Cecelia’s was conveniently located by the hotel I’m staying at. So needlessto say, my excitement was through the roof. We started off with a drink, some alligator bites, and gumbo for appetizers! Mygosh, the flavor smacked my tastebuds in a great way! Then the entrees, O.M.G! The shrimp and grits I knew was going to be good- it was amazing, full of flavor for sure. The blackened redfish was great too with the étouffée! If you happen to bedowntown Baton Rouge, please do yourself a favor and try this restaurant out! You won’t be disappointed! Read more

Tried this restaurant out for the first time while out dining with friends. The food was really good. In other words, we... conversed while waiting on our food to be served but the table fell into complete silence as we ate only speaking to comment onhow good the food tasted. The service was impeccable and ran as smooth as a perfectly tuned clock. Loved the modern woodsy styleand unique personality of the interior of the restaurant. Small yet intimate and would be great for a date night. My friendstried the various pastas especially their seafood pasta and loved them all. I tried a little of the cornbread skillet which wasdelicious and a nice twist on traditional cornbread. And for my entree, I had the Catfish Laurel which was really good andcomforting and I enjoyed eating every bite. I left feeling satisfied not stuffed. Great experience. Great comfort food.Wonderful waitstaff and friendly and attentive service. Would eat there again trying the other meals my friends raved about.Definitely recommend this restaurant. Read more

An absolute gem in the heart of downtown. The menu is full unique and delicious Creole options. Our meals were cooked to... perfection. The flavor in each bite had the right balance of spice with savory. My only complaint is too many incrediblesounding dishes on the menu. Our server Sarah was attentive, helpful and has pride in her profession. The drink menu was loadedwith amazing sounding beverages too. If I could give it more stars I would! Looking forward to returning soon. Read more

Even with a large party for a birthday dinner, this was a very nice dining experience! Our server was very thorough and patient... without rushing us or making us feel like a burden. Our food came out in a timely manner and everyone got the correct orders.Appetizers and salads came out first, then entrees just as they were ordered. The fries were definitely homemade and fresh! Igot the tri tail, which was the special for the day and it was amazing! The fish wasn't too salty, the sauces brought all theflavors together and the dish was more than filling for the price. It's a very nice setting, not too loud, not too quiet, perfect for date night, girls night, or just a relaxing dining experience. I'll definitely be back! Read more

If I could give this place more stars I would! We stopped in Baton Rouge on our way back from NC to TX. Our server, Dan, was... very knowledgeable on the menu and the area. He was able to give us a tip on a rooftop view down the street that's notadvertised, which was awesome! Cecelia's vibe was very inviting with all the live plants and the music playing in thebackground. The lighting was on point too. The food was amazing. The bacon on the fried green tomatoes was unbelievable. Hands down one of the best meals we've ever had! This is now a permanent stop on our travels! Read more

Great vibes in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere in downtown Baton Rouge. Highly recommend but make reservations for the best... experience. My wife and I made reservations at this delightful bistro for an early Valentine's Day celebration and we were notdisappointed. Our server was Emily, who made our evening perfect. She started us out with a French Martini which my wife saidwas spot-on (she had two). For appetizers we enjoyed the Sweet & Spicy Alligator tossed in a housemade chili aioli. Each piecewas bite-sized, tender and the seasoning just right. We also had the "must have" Skillet Cornbread. Served in a small ironskillet, Emily poured the maple bourbon glaze at table side. It is not a stretch to say it is so good that you may want to enjoyit for dessert. Either way you can't go wrong. For dinner I had the evening's special: fried snapper on polenta withbroccolini. I wish there was a way to over state just how good this was but I don't know how. As good a dish as I have ever hadthe pleasure to consume. My wife had the Seafood Pasta: linguini with sautéed lump crabmeat, shrimp & crawfish, tossed in aspicy tasso cream. I have to accept by the way she finished it off that her dish was every bit as good as mine. Read more
