The service was amazing. The waitress was very attentive and made sure that the food came out in a timely manner and that my... glass remained full. The manager was very friendly and made sure to walk the floor checking in on all of the guest. The potatosoup was very tasty. It had the perfect balance so that the potato was not overpowered by the other ingredients as often happensat other restaurants. The Caesar salad was okay. The dressing was a little sweet for my taste. I prefer a saltier Caesardressing heavier on the anchovy. I'm always looking for a great chicken marsala, so when I viewed the menu online and saw theyserve it I decided to give them a try. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the chicken marsala. The sauce was very oily andlacked the sweet glaze like texture that a chicken marsala should have. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere perfect fordinner with some friends or a casual date night. They have a nice wine list. I really wanted to give La Contea a better ratingbut unfortunately they fell short where it counts most, on my entree. Read more

I was here for a birthday dinner, Very nice setting nice and cozy the waiter was good. The food was a little hit and miss for... us, the plus side is they make their own breads and pasta in house delicious ????. I would go back again. For a place I had never heard of and my love of Italian food, I was at first sceptical. But one of my business partners said to... trust him, so away we went for lunch. La Contea is located in a small shopping area off of Jefferson Highway. You must look hardto find it, and when you go in, you are surprised at the decor. It could have been a fine New York restaurant right here inBTR. So when going to a new Italian restaurant, I always see if they put their best up in a so called 'Tour of Italy'. La Contrahad just such a offering. It was Chicken Parmesan, Lasagna and my big time favorite Chicken Alfredo. I am a big eater, andbarely could finish the entire meal. The Caesar salad was outstanding with no one ingredient standing out...the exact way sucha salad should be served All three of the entrees offered were outstanding, all with tastes unique to the dish. No one saucefits all. Kudos to the chef. But the Alfredo was exactly like New York style super creamy sauce with a taste I have not had oncein Baton Rouge. The closest was at the New York Pizza on Jones Creek. Nowhere else approached the quality of this entree. Thenext time I come here, it will be a full main course of the Alfredo....might take home a serving of Lasagna for later as well. IWILL become a regular of La Contea going forward. Came in for Restaurant Week and was blown away by both the food and the service. The food was rich, delicious, and overall... amazing with great portions. My waiter Dominick definitely made the experience that much greater with his recommendations andincredible personality. I'll be back for sure and I am already planning when my next visit will be. Absolutely amazing. Food was perfect. We were looking around for a nice restaurant and we were told this one was nice.... Definitely recommend everyone to try this. The food here is exquisite! It's apparent they use all fresh ingredients. The food didn't come out quickly but, we didn't wait... long either. They pay attention to detail with their food & take the time to make sure it comes out properly to the coustomer.The cocktails we had were presented beautifully &, tasted very good. The alcohol per mixture ratio was perfect. The atmosphereis very clean & elegant. The prices are high but if, they continue putting out excellent food & service. I don't have a problemwith it.
