We arrived about 9 am, the restaurant was fairly empty. We each order an omelet with grits, I ordered avacodo toast they gave us... the grits first. We got our coffee and waited. She brought out my toast which was cold. Then she brought out my husband?somelette. I informed the waiter the toast was cold and I would just like a refund on it. He said I had to take to the cashier.About then my omelet with croissant arrived. I ate and then took the cold toast to cashier air refund. My husband?s omelet wasrunny. Overall the restaurant seemed unorganized and the staff was minimally friendly. Way overpriced for breakfast. I havealways enjoyed la Madeleine the past but today not so much. Read more

I got the cafe sampler. The tomato basil soup was very good! The Quiche Lorraine wasn?t warmed but it was good. Maybe you have... to request that they warm it. They must have changed the recipe for Strawberry Romanov because the sauce wasn?t as thick as Iremembered from the past. It had a different flavor too. The bread and jams were good as always. Hadn?t been in over a year. Noticeable decline. Manager had to prompt the young man manning salads to take our order. We both... got chicken on Caesar which normally comes with warm thinly sliced chicken. This time was big cold chunks. I got a cup of soupwhich was cold. I got to stand at the serving line and wait while it was heated up in a pan in the kitchen. The soup was great. Coffee was great. Salad was mmmeh. Read more

EDIT 2: Went back again using the gift cards the manager sent following my original post. Many things were improved from the... first visit: the food was ready quickly even though I ordered in store; the serving size for the chicken la madeleine waslarger, but still smaller than you get in store (it's possible they've changed portion sizes on this); and the food wasgenerally better (potato soup was good). On the downside, the chicken la madeleine was just OK, and the side of green beans wereclose to inedible. I'm giving this a final rating of three stars because the food is "okay" and it's priced well, and theservice was better. It's also nice that the manager cared enough to reach out and send gift cards. EDIT: Added a star. Managerreached out to apologize and offer gift cards to give this location another try, which I will do and update here. ORIGINAL:This location seems to have gone downhill so fast that it could have medaled in the Winter Olympics. I used to eat at thislocation all the time. Today I picked up dinner for my family for the first time in a while from this location. We had a numberof problems. The first was that my 15-20 minute wait turned into 50 even though there was maybe one other customer when I gotthere. I ordered the chicken la madeleine, which I used to always get. This time, the serving size for the entree was about 1/4the size as it used to be (see photo). It was also cold and tasted about half as good as it used to. This was a full pricedinner combo. They also failed to sub the broccoli for mashed potatoes. My wife?s potato soup was also not good, and it used tobe very good. It looks like most of the recent reviews agree, one-star. Avoid this place. Read more

This location has gone downhill. When we walked in, no one greeted us so we just stood around awkwardly for three or four... minutes until someone finally asked to take our order, and when they did we had to tell them what our orders came with (sides, milk for the kids orders). Then we had to wait for the manager to ring us up because the staff wasn't allowed to for somereason, and when I asked if our soups were charged cheaper as $2.99 since they were added to our entrees, I was given thesnarkiest reply that it was. I brushed it off. The food was okay... only the soup was as good as it always was. The chicken wasbland and is not the chicken of old.. it's precooked garbage. The fruit looked old and soggy. The bread was stale. And then itwas expensive, but that's kind of how all restaurants are nowadays. I definitely don't recommend this location anymore. Read more

The tomato soup was nearly hot enough. And then it took entirely too long to get the new grilled cheese. It was cooked enough.... The center cheese didn?t melt. No lemonade option to drink. So didn?t like that. We had six people and 5 of the six of grilledcheese. We all had the same problem. Maybe need more sandwich presses? Hot skillet? Read more

Visited on invitation from friends returning to visit. I assume they chose the location because it's convenient and easy to... reach from any part of town. Arrived at peak dinner time in the latter half of the week. The place was deserted aside from theparty I was joining and the employees. Somewhat shocked to see the state of the place. Limited food selection, to say the least.A very small selection of sweets and pastries, my favorite part of the franchise. The employees were as nice as they could be,but I would find it difficult to maintain a positive mental attitude in such a setting. Maybe it's just a lunch place now?Perhaps it's functioning as front for money laundering? Whatever the case, it was a weird and vaguely unpleasant experienceexcept for seeing friends which was incidental to the venue. It might be a good place to drink coffee and quietly work on yourunasked for novel, idk Read more

Enjoyed the Parisian flair in Baton Rouge. Omelettes are amazing, bistro atmosphere, and friendly staff should be experienced.
