Just ate from this place for the first time today. I ordered the smothered pork chops, with greens, and mashed potatoes. I also... ordered a slice of peach cobbler. The site says the plate comes with 2x the pork chops. Well, my whole plate was off. I onlyreceived one pork chop. The bed of rice was semi hard, the mashed potatoes was replaced with spaghetti Mac and cheese which washorrible, and the peach cobbler was replaced with a horrible tasting cheesecake. The green beans were okay. The only good thingabout my order was the pork chop was cooked all the way and tender. I will not be eating here again. I ordered the catfish platter via Door Dash. It says it comes with 2 sides but your unable to choose them. I left a note in the... special instructions with the two sides I wanted. Otherwise you will pay for your 2 sides. The food had zero taste and thecatfish batter was horrible. I also ordered peach cobbler for $4 and received a very small container of what tasted like anapple crisp with very little peaches. I will never order from this place again and I really wished I would have read the reviewsfirst. Read more
Ordered through DoorDash, menu states entree with 2 sides. Only gives entree and optional sides for most. Ordered okra, rice... with catfish filet. Not smothered, just added tomato sauce, no shrimp, no season. Catfish not the best. Nothing like Iexpected. Should have read the reviews. Read more
When I first visited Baton Rouge back in December 2019 this was the first place I had takeout from. When it was delivered to my... room I was in Heaven. I felt like I was eating in my Grandmas or Aunts kitchen. I've since relocated here. I ordered dinnertonight and I had the same feeling. I order the same thing every time. Smothered chicken with rice, greens and potatoe salad. I just want to thank y'all for being consistent and delicious. I am in the industry and I dont eat at very many places!! Read more
Omg! $35.75 for a meal that should have been put in a dumpster. I order the ribs with dirty rice&cabbage, not one spice on the... ribs & bbq sauce was from a bottle. the rice& cabbage under cooked. Oh! and the cornbread was a pancake that was burnt and thatwas the only taste that it had. So disappointing I will never be back. ???? Read more
Two visits: 1st visit food was great & 2nd visit we were disappointed. On the 2nd visit I simply re-ordered the exact same thing... I got the 1st visit (Pictured below) But instead of beef tips & rice (like the 1st time) I got cube size meat pieces with bonein it. (Im white so I dont have a clue) I played it off because I didnt wana be rude, being as how I was the only white personin the building. & I got sweet potatoes the 2nd visit instead of candied yams (pictured below) like the 1st time.Technically thesame thing I think, I dont know, I was raised on burgers and pizza. But the 1st time those sweet whatever's were so sweet &good! The 2nd time, not sweet at all. I mean... My husband is black & our kids are Mixed so I try & Im still learning. Read more
Great food! made with love and made to order so its nice and fresh. Hands down they have thee best burger I've had since I've... been in BR...called the Beast Burger. I just haven't found anything that compare in price, portion and taste ANYWHERE! Catfish Acadiana, Etouffee are all delicious. Having tried most items on their menu I support theses guys.....the only issue isthe ticket times, I've had some horrible experiences waiting damn near an hour or longer for my orders even though we alwayscall in advance. I tried this place SEVERAL times bc ppl kept saying how good the food was. Umm yeah lol. It’s gonna be a NO for me. The greens... had way too much vinegar my mac n cheese taste like they made it with that cheap easy melt cheese.... my chicken was dry it waseither over cooked or rewarmed up from the day before... I could go on but I’m not. I still believe in supporting blackbusiness but the food needs to be improved. Read more
