Sammy?s has been my favorite in Baton Rouge for decades. Boiled crawfish is especially awesome when in season. The whole menu is... legit. Read more

I had a great experience, the food was hot and good, the server Ashley was attentive, didn't have to wait long for any of the... food, the cook Kenya was also amazing with the presentation of my food. It was very reasonable priced, even with family. We willbe back, soon!!! Read more

Little spot off the beaten path with Louisiana cooking. It has decent food. A variety of Po Boys to try. The gumbo was tasty.

Everything was good, I have had better from here in the past. Onion rings were great. Crab cakes were a bit bland and could use... a sauce on them. The red beans with fried pork chops was very good. The bbq shrimp was good but not great, it was spicy and hadlots of shrimp, was 16 in total and were cooked well. I found it to be not like traditional bbq shrimp, it had lots ofvegetables cooked down in sauce and it wasn't bad just not like I expected. The shrimp and corn soup wasn't really liked at allby anyone definitely not your traditional cream based shrimp and corn. We were satisfied overall but a few let downs Thecheesecake was ok kind of gritty in texture Read more

Met friends for lunch. We were greeted warmly and immediately shown to a table. Iced tea was fresh brewed and perfect. As an... appetizer, we had the cheese fries which were the best I've had in Baton Rouge. Starting with perfectly seasoned fries andcovered with melted cheedar, they were delicious. I then had a side salad with the house dressing which was rich and tasty. Iordered the catfish and white beans which were excellent. The beans were delicately seasoned and complimented the catfish whichwas seasoned to cajun percection without being overly salty, and fried thin and crispy. I also wanted to try their crawfishetouffee, which is often not great at restaurants, but their's was well seasoned, but not salty or hot. I have leftovers fordinner and am very happy with my meal, as were my friends. I will be back! Read more

Step out of my comfort zone, and ordered the Blackened bayou Catfish, and I must say it was close your eyes good. I'm not the... one to do veggies but these veggies were PERFECT!! Then to top off my waiter Duffy took care of us... He recommended my dish, and our entire visit he stayed on top of everything. Great waiter!!! I would definitely recommend this place. Read more

Decent local place but need help with staffing. Food was good, as always. However, the guy waiting in us was covering half (or... more) of the restaurant. Help was there, he was just taking care of most it including the bar side. Multiple tables were openand we still waited almost 30 minutes for a table. When they finally called us in they sat us at one table that had been openthe entire time. Food was good overall, fresh and well seasoned. The only complaint being that everything was slow. Weordered adult drinks that took forever, our appitizers coming before. Our salads came after the entrees, because they forgot.I also asked about crab (was it in season?). Was told Sammy's doesn't serve crab, even though it is printed in the menu underthe banner "boil" Food is worth it overall but floor management needs to improve. Pretty loose overall; however. You do have acouple hustling to take care of patrons. Read more
