This was a real treat. Last minute decision to go here. One big reason was because they were open early. I?m a vegan and I was... able to order a filling breakfast. My sis had the quinoa with fruit and homemade granola. She said the grits were nice andcreamy like our grandfather?s. Owner was very pleasant and brought us our food. Food was reasonable priced. We've been to this restaurant a few times now, and it's great. You have to know what you're getting though, so tame your... expectations. This is more of a breakfast spot, less of a brunch spot. They've got eggs, bacon pancakes, and coffee. You orderat a counter and then go sit down and they bring you your food. No frills. But what they do, they do very well. Eggs are cookedperfectly, grits are salty and creamy, coffee is strong. The only issue is sometimes the wait is long, but that's not theirfault because they move people in and out quickly. OMG my experience was HORRIBLE !!! soo this was my first time trying this place so I ordered the French Toast Breakfast,... according to the menu online it was suppose to come with three pieces of French toast and also powdered sugar on the top. Belowis what I received, it reminded me of a breakfast In the hospital. I never had French toast that was both soggy and dry andtasted like raw egg yolk, it?s nothing good I can say about this breakfast. I had the shrimp and grits with a single side of French toast, Which was delicious!! I couldn?t finish this all alone it was so... filling. From the moment you enter you are greeted by a very nice looking man, and once you order you grab a table they?ll bringyour plate to you after you order at register. I went on a Sunday and I went about 10am ,I think if I would?ve waited anylonger then I for sure would?ve caught the rush. The place gets packed!! Understandingly. I will for sure go back Tuesday beforeI head back home. Update: Had to come a second time before heading back home and it was even better!!! Enjoyed breakfast here on a Sunday morning. We just barely beat the crowds. This place fills up fast. Crispy bacon and the eggs... were great! We had scrambled and over easy. Both delicious! Hands down this has to be one of the best places in Baton Rouge for breakfast! I love the casualness of this place. You place... your order, get a number and find a seat. We came early so tables were available but this place gets busy quickly. PROS:Everything! Atmosphere, music, food and staff are all awesome. Don?t skip the grits! They have to be the best I?ve ever had.Creamy and perfectly salted. I love that they offer smoked sausage as a meat option. It was tasty! Seriously this was a verytasty and satisfying meal. We left stuffed and happy! CONS: None with the exception you may have to wait for a table buteverything moves quickly. Make sure to check out the local art that?s for sale on the walls. We are traveling through Louisiana and stopped to have breakfast. Love the atmosphere here. Love how u order upfront get ur own... coffee. You eat get up and walk out?.
