AMAZING atmosphere. The food is ALWAYS worth the trip alone, the inside decor is the perfect setting for date night to a wedding... proposal. Always friendly, always welcoming. First time in Battle Creek. Heard a lot about this place, so I stopped in. Had a great meal of Fish Tacos. Took the fish and... chips with me to go, and had a couple of very reasonably priced drinks. Service was excellent. All in all a great place to havea night out. Read more
This is a great place to quench your thirst and fill your belly, whether you live in Battle Creek or are just passing through,... as I was. Forget the fast food restaurants along the Interstate. Drive into town and relax at this pub. There is adequateparking in the area. Great food; great beer (including my favourite Irish ale - Smithwick's); great service; friendly staff;great vibe; reasonable prices. You won't go wrong popping in here. Read more
Had a wonderful experience. We sat outside in the evening and it was fantastic. Observed some art on neighboring buildings. I... feel terrible that I can't remember our servers name. She did good. We had the scotch eggs (first experience) and THEY WEREDELICIOUS! Then we ordered (& split) the Rory O'Conner Burger and the Pablano Pork Street Tacos. The Burger is a PB&J burger.Um YUM! Great local bar. My wife and I live about 2 hours away and this place is so worth coming back to. Homemade chips, delicious... burger and chicken. Drinks are strong and taste great. We sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome. Didn't catch her namebut we really appreciate the quick service and nice demeanor. Read more
Had a great experience here. Was in town for business and was my 1st time in town. The food was top notch. The burger was cooked... perfect, the beer batter fries we perfectly crisp and the beer washed it down well. I would recommend this spot for locals orthose traveling. Read more
I have been to this restaurant many times but not in the last year. My family threw a surprise birthday party for me here... because they know I love the scotch eggs and bangers & mash. Unfortunately, it seems like the pandemic has hit another goodrestaurant. The bangers didn't have the apple taste they did before, the Shepards pie was served in a soup bowl, and they burnedthe last order of scotch eggs so I didn't get those at all. The waitresses were slamming dishes into the wash tub that wassitting right next to peoples tables and could be heard over the very loud room of people. I expect it to be loud in thissmaller restaurant on a Saturday night but when dishes are being slammed and heard above the crowd I think that's a bitexcessive. To top it off no one asked if we wanted a discount for them burning the last order of eggs and us not being able toget what we came there for. The food was slow to come out but it does warn you of that possibility on the menu when you bring inlarge crowds, we had 13 people. All I can say at this point is I expected more.
