Great service, awesome food and good size portions.
One of my favorite places to eat. One of the few places that you don't feel gross after eating. No msg. Healthier option
The "ginger beef". 1. No ginger. 2. Battered. 3. Very little beef. 4. No beef, all batter. 5. Syrup. I was not expecting this,... and I can most certainly say, neither was my mother. ( 84 years old) I paid a good sum of money for a syrupy batter. To me ginger beef implies ginger and beef. No batter or syrup. Batter hides the fact there is very little or no beef in it. Thechicken balls were mostly batter. The chicken fried rice was safe from batter and syrup. I don't care how nice an establishmentis, or how friendly, if the food isn't good, none of that matters. I am not made of money and it is a treat to get take out. Isee the good reviews on here,; and wonder how many people even watch to see what they are eating. I live in a subdivision just outside Battleford and the first time I ordered from R&J Garden Restaurant I requested delivery. No... one there was sure they could find my address and when I went to pick up my order Ricky, the owner, followed me home so he wouldknow where to deliver in the future. Where else are you going to find customer service on that level? The food is consistentlygreat as well! Read more
what a great place! The service is top notch and the food is always good! We are now "regulars" The portions are great. We order... for two people and always have enough for the three adults and two kids in the house! Will always recommend this place! One ofthe best Chinese restaurants we've been to! Read more
We thought we would try this place out because it had really great reviews and there were really great options available for the... combination dinners for 1 however, we were very disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. My husband ordered thedinner for 1 with shanghai noodles, ginger beef and chicken balls and I ordered the dinner for one with rice, ginger beef andlemon chicken. The lemon chicken was good. The rice was extremely overcooked and a mush that became a big clump when you mixedit together and it did not have any flavor. The ginger beef looked like it did not have any ginger sauce on it and tasted likeit was just covered in corn syrup. The shanghai noodles looked like they were just plain spaghetti noodles and they hadabsolutely no flavor. The mixed vegetables consisted of one piece of broccoli and a couple pieces of carrot. The takeoutcontainers were also not full, considering the price and the amount of food I have typically received from a dinner for one forthe same price, I was very disappointed in the quality and quantity. Always fresh and a good place to stop for the week day lunch buffet.
There was a bit of a discrepancy with the soup as we wanted Wong Tong soup that we usually get- we somehow ended up with Udon... Soup. However, they fixed it for us and the lady was very helpful- the lady made my night. This is my favourite Chineserestaurant. I have been to multiple Chinese restaurants in Calgary and this one is a hidden gem and is by far the best!! Read more
