Probably my favorite Mexican/ southwest style restaurant since moving to the area a few years ago so far. Admittedly, really... good southwest or Mexican food has been hard to find around the area. A lot of restaurants in the area really lack the spice, flavor and portion size. The fajitas here are great, the steak and chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. It?s notoverpriced. They offer very generous portions. The salsa was very good, there was definitely enough seasoning on the food, missing a little bit of spice/heat though. Very delicious food. I will definitely be back. Read more

It was good it just lacked a lot of flavor. I still ate everything on my plate. Once I put lime on the fish tacos, it helped... make them bearable. They were dry before. Chips were okay could have been more fresh. Read more

I had high hopes of going here. Salsa and chips were excellent (better than nearly all other r mexi an joints I've been to).... Food prices are slightly high. Portion sizes are small. There is no liquor here (aka no margaritas). There is only beer andwine. Service was relatively inattentive. Speed of bringing out food was incredibly slow particularly on a not very busyevening. There is plenty of seating inside. There is no outdoor dining area. There is free parking, bit the lot can fill upeasily. Churros were the worst you could ever imagine. Super over fried, hard, and no cinnamon sugar. Read more

We haven't been to Carmelita's in quite a few years but tonight we had a hankering for Mexican. They start you off with warm... chips and homemade salsa. My wife ordered the Mexican pizza which was delicious. I decide to take a different route and try thepork chops. Let me just say it was the best pork chops that I have had in a long time. Way better than any steakhouse in thearea. I can taste that they were marinated and were flame broiled to perfection. I also had refried beans and a salad with it????. Read more

Expensive for Texmex. Cost is a big factory in ratings. Maybe some people like the food at Carmalitas but we don't. My wife's... Chimichange was soggy. We don't care for shreaded meat. My shrimp burrito had about 4 shrimp and they were cut into pieces. There was no flavor. The only thing that was good was the Guac. The salsa was good but no heat. Read more

Great variety, good sized portions and piping hot food is the combination I?m looking for in a restaurant! We made the mistake... in getting an appetizer which meant we were too full for our entrees. In hindsight, we probably could have split an entree andbeen content. The carne nachos were delicious though. Highly recommend if you?re feeling nachos. With so many entree options, our server suggested we try one of the specials so that we could get a little bit of everything. We went with the Durango comboand the Special combo. We definitely took some home with us. Overall the prices were reasonable for the portions, parking was abreeze and we didn?t need to wait for a table. While the service was quick, it wasn?t very friendly. The quality of the foodmade up for that. Read more
