We have gone here for the last 30 years when we partake in the apple fest in October, they are always great and fast service,... whether it's 6 of us or 16 of us! The decor is amazing and very fun to look at! One of these years we will get in on theovernight rooms they offer! Love this place! Read more

Hungry and feeling groovy? Look no further. Gruenkies holds the bar high with their casual oldies vibe coupled with flawlessly... prepared trout and whitefish. Everything from the livers to the fish boil, this place is not to be missed when looking forexcellent local fare. Breakfast is super good too! Read more

The wife had ribs, oldest boy had a hamburger and I had the meatloaf. All were great as was the service. We also got a room... which was adequate for the evening, especially without reservations. Unfortunately they could not put us up for the next nightbut Judith was a jewel and called around to find us a place to stay the following night. Overall a fantastic trip. Thanks to allwho were ready, willing and able to assist us. Read more

My wife and I were looking for a quick meal before running to catch one of the last ferry?s onto Madeline Island. We walked into... Greunke?s and we?re pleasantly surprised with great service and an excellent dinner ! The Whitefish and Trout were outstandingas were the spotted cow and generous glass of white wine. Judith (Owner) and staff made sure we had plenty of time to get to theferry. This is a special place, we?ll be back! Chris & Kelly Read more

We had two families looking for food later in the evening and ended up walking here from the marina. We had no idea what to... expect, and ended up having a fabulous time here with some good pizza, sodas, wine, and beer. Judith, the owner, took a lot oftime to give us an overview of many of the historical artifacts, including her fabulous Wurlitzer jukebox. She has a lot ofgreat stories to tell. The kids (of all ages) and parents were intrigued with her stories and got a memorable experience. Ifyou get the privilege to meet her and get some time, you won't regret it. When we left, there wasn't a bite of pizza left andeveryone had smiles. Read more

Stayed at the inn and ate downstairs in the restaurant for dinner one night. I had the chicken special and my son had the ribs.... It was all delicious, salad was good, too, and staff was friendly. Service was great! The inn is the kind of lake place I liketo stay: it?s like being at your family lake house and you?re given a comfy room upstairs with a bathroom you share down thehallway with your cousins.:) Authentic, homey, comforting. Food was good, service was slow but was very polite & courteous with a smile. Didn't have to wear a face mask. Little narrow... getting to the ladies bathroom. Anyone claustrophobic would struggle with it. Had a lot of memorabilia on the walls, like ElvisPresley, Marilyn Monroe & more. Was very busy when we went at 11:30am on July 4th. There is a ice cream stand right by theparking lot. They do have a patio but it was closed. They had already started lot menu. Couple people in our group said theReuben & cheeseburger was good. The trout was good but needed a little more seasoning when it was boiled. They also have thatdeep fried. If you like fish hearts saw that on the menu. The truck hadn't come in so none of us got the coleslaw that goes withour meals Read more

This place has the best fresh fish I've ever had! The Pecan Trout was to die for! We had hot dogs from the ice cream stand on... the edge of the property, and they were THE BEST we have ever had! Chris and Maggie were amazing and they really offered somegood times ???? Chris's wiener is top notch and Maggie's buns are also wonderful! Will definitely be visiting again! Read more
