My favorite go-2 Resturant in Bayville, NY. Not only is the food excellent (haven’t had a bad meal yet), but the staff is... friendly and professional. Richard, the owner always greets his guests on in a first name basis. It is also kid friendly and wetake out granddaughter there a lot. They are extremely accommodating and will prepare your food as requested. The portions arevery generous and the desserts are great too! I love the warm brownie with ice-cream!!!! A tavern with a dining room off to the side. This is a strange layout. You enter the tavern, that smells like a tavern & shuffle... past the barflies to stand in the doorway of the dining room. White table clothes, glass water bottles, electric candle light &a menu that unfortunately sounds better than it is. Pretzel dough with brie and a fig honey dip sounded just right. We were visiting family in Mill neck and choose Mill Creek Tavern because they have a very nice menu. I like that they print the... daily specials with descriptions and prices. It was a late dinner and both my wife and I opted for appetizers. She selected theIron Skillet Meatball Parmesan . four homemade meatballs with melted mozzarella, and a pomodoro sauce with a piece of garlicbread on top. Very good. I chose the Crispy Chili Pop Shrimp , baby shrimp( not that small) with a sweet Thai chili sauce,really very good. Also the Tuscan Calamari, fried calamari, marinara, lemon, and a horseradish aioli. Unfortunately thecalamari was rubbery and chewy. For dessert, my wife wanted the WARM APPLE CRISP ,Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, rolledoat crumb topping, and vanilla bean ice cream, also very good and a huge portion. Read more
