Great place. We camped nearby and stopped here for breakfast instead of cooking (it?s a 5 minute drive from the nearby state... park beach). Pulled right in to a parking spot, no wait for 2 for a booth at 9AM on a Sunday, and incredible service. Ourwaitress was efficient, friendly, and clearly very experienced. Prices were lower than many places we?ve been for breakfastthese days, and food was very substantial (as you can see from the photo, portion sizes are massive) and delicious. Came here spontaneously with my wife after a failed attempt to go to the dmv that ended up being closed.. anyways. My wife was... so excited to show me this place and so we went for breakfast. I ordered the steak skillet with over waste eggs and a side ofred velvet pancakes and my wife ordered chicken fried steak and waffle and a side of eggs. The skillet was delicious, the cheesewas melted nicely and the steak cooked perfectly. And the red velvet pancakes were so good, probably the best I?ve ever had. Mywife?s waffle was also really good also! All the food was good and I was instantly in love with this place!! The perfectbreakfast diner! The restaurant has such a warm welcoming vibe too! The service was top notch. In fact, the server was pleasant and professional. The restaurant was tidy, and my table was clean.... The bus person brought water and silverware to me immediately after I sat down. It was the food that I ordered that was theissue. I chose pumpkin pancakes. My order was served with a mousse atop the pancakes. (Nothing on the menu board'sdescription indicated that there would be mousse on top of the pancakes.) I spread the brown mousse over my pancakes. This wasa mistake as the mousse was so sweet all I could taste was nutmeg and sugar--pumpkin was lacking. I took two bites. I did notlike it. I informed the server. She apologized and said that she would bring me an order of regular buttermilk pancakes. Iaccepted, and I surrendered my original order. When I got the bill I noticed that not only was I charged for the pumpkinpancakes, but I was also charged for the replacement order of buttermilk pancakes. Feeling as if I were being treated unfairly,I asked the manager to remove the charge for either the pumpkin pancakes or the buttermilk pancakes. She replied that it was myfault for ordering the pumpkin pancakes if I did not like them. She added that food costs were too high, so it was "on me" topay for them. (Never have I ever been berated by a restaurant manager in that fashion.) Ultimately, she refunded the chargefor the pumpkin pancakes. (I was still charged for the replacement order, but I did not object to that.). After beingmistreated by management, I will not return. Read more
