Having been in florida for the last decade I was extremely excited to go to a good ol' jersey diner again. The nostalgic feeling... surpassed the food I remember as a young man. It was just OKAY. Maybe it would be better late night after a few drinks like Iused to do. French onion soup was bland as can be, the French dip was bland as can be (had to ask for horse radish sauce forflavor) my lady had the gyro and zucchini fries. Idk why she ordered a gyro from a diner LOL clearly frozen mystery meat. Andthr zucchini fries tasted like everything else out of the fryer. The regular fries were good. Prices were a little wild. Stopped for a quick Bite. Glad I did.Friendly service and food was great. I had a grilled chicken sandwich, just chicken,... lettuce and tomato on a roll. The roll was fresh and fabulous. Can't get one like that in Florida. The are chicken cookedperfectly. The French fries cooked perfectly too plus they didn't salt them at my request. I Dont live near here but would beback often. Very clean, friendly service. Great breakfast, good coffee. The prices were lower than expected. I will definitely be back.
Food was great, food came out fast, we had seating immediately. Our server could use some training, nothing was picked up from... our table, nobody was refilled, it was a pain to get her attention, we were not checked on. when we ordered coffee and dessertwe planned to sit in with those items but they were presented in togo containers while our whole table was still a mess from ourprevious items. on our way to cash out we were not acknowledged but we did get to watch her giggle with her coworkers playinggames on their phones by the entrance. The Sandcastle has been around decades now, and it's as good as ever. Value for your money, quality of food, quality of service,... it's the quintessential New Jersey Diner, and they stuck with it all through the pandemic. Great burgers, great entrees, aclassic club, what more do you want from a diner?!! Lovely location, clean and comfortable setting inside, it's really a dyingbreed the NJ Diner but The Sandcastle is the paradigm. A true classic. Read more
Very cute place. It had a very towny vibe which I appreciate a lot despite obviously not being from there. Service was fast and... my waitress (wish I could remember her name :( ) was great! I got the Hot Apple Waffle with a side of Canadian bacon and myboyfriend got the Hearty Breakfast with chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Great food, not expensive, and veryfilling. Finishing up cleaning out Mom's House in Holiday City and stopped here for the first time for Breakfast. Kit had the Lulu... Breakfast Sandwich which was a Pork Roll, Egg, Cheese between 2 Slices of Texas size French Toast I had a regular Pork Roll,Egg, Cheese on toasted roll with SPK and a side of French Fries.
