The food was great and the servers were awesome. Been driving past this diner for years and we are glad that we tried it. We... initially went to IHOP along the same road but there was a 30 minute wait. So we searched for a closest diner on google maps andremembered this diner. There was no line and we got to sit a minute after entering the door. This diner has a lot of items intheir menu and it appears that most of the customers are enjoying their food and are just having regular conversations. We sawa dessert fridge on the way put and all items in it looke awesome. Unfortunately, we were all full and was not able to tryanything on their dessert selection. Read more
Good food, good service. The atmosphere was pleasant. Everyone was very friendly. I was surprised to find this diner in a strip... mall and not a stand-alone building, but it certainly didn't take away from the experience once inside. Possibly my onlycomplaint - way too much syrup in my sprite. But I can overlook that no problem! And it's likely to be different on othervisits. Read more
I do like this diner and appreciate the prices not skyrocketing after the Pandemic. The only issue I ever have here is the... seasoning of the food. Normally it is just the amount of salt. This might be due to the number of older clientele that need lesssalt in their diets. All in all the food is good and the severs are pleasant. A nice all around diner. Read more
The service was great nice atmosphere.. Pancakes were awesome.. Chip beef NOT so great.. Had no beef in it.. It was cream gravy... over toast.. Very disappointed.. But I will return again.. Their omelettes look fantastic. Read more
My husband likes a breakfast all day diner and Route 40 Diner did not disappoint in that. I tried the crab soup and returned it... because it was made with little uniform pieces of fake crab. Should have gone with breakfast! They did quickly take the soup offthe bill. The deserts look absolutely fabulous, beautiful cakes and apple pie. Read more
So I waited a while before posting because I was taught that if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. I... know many people don't follow that, but I'm comfortable with it. I've never been here before but have always been curious. Iwas in the mood for breakfast for dinner. The place was clean and the staff was nice. Food looked good and I got somethingsimple - blueberry pancakes with scrapple (which was nicely thick cut), and hot chocolate. For me, there simply wasn't anytaste to the food. Pancakes were really dry and syrup didn't help - they just had no taste. Neither did the scrapple. Hotchocolate was good though! Hubby had more: blueberry pancakes with strawberry topping, over-easy eggs and bacon. We've hadgreat dinner food before, this just didn't make up for us so we probably will not be returning. Absolutely horrible. I'm here from out of town for a class and found this diner on Google maps. Reviews and pics looked good for... breakfast. Nope. Pancakes were chewy like they were made yesterday and reheated. Syrup? Nope, it's not syrup it's brown coloredcorn syrup (Kraft syrup packet, reading that from the ingredients). Butter? Nope, looks like whipped lard or something, but it'snot butter. Scrambled eggs were half cooked. If you love your breakfast stay away from here. When paying the bill (to my server)she asked how everything was. I replied, "Less than mediocre". She didn't respond or ask what was wrong. Shows they don't care. Read more
Breakfast is the meal to have at Route 40 Diner. Their omelets, French toast, and pancakes are delicious. Their desserts are... really good also. The service is very good. The place could use an update, but it works. Overall, it's a good local diner. Read more
