So today I get in my car and drive the 20 miles to get a couple of pounds of ham. When I get there I'm told they are out of ham.... Really??? They are a ham store. Said they had turkey or they'd have some ham tomorrow. I told them I wouldn't be in Beaumonttomorrow. I was there today. I have no desire to make another 40 mile round trip any time soon. Very good food. No complaints. Clean and cozy with a decent atmosphere. It's rare to have a little deli shop with good food in... the deeper sides of a city. The cost was a touch high for me though. This has to be the worst food I've ever had from here. 6 dollars for a sandwich that had next to nothing on it.
Recently, April 12, 2019, I had a taste for a spiral ham sandwich from Honey B Ham. I looked them up to obtain their phone... number and make a to go order. I dialed them and was met with a very pleasant voice and immediately asked to hold, after sheidentified the company. I agreed to a brief hold. What I did not expect was to be placed on hold for nearly 17 minutes! In thetime I held the phone I was able to drive to the restaurant to order/pick up my food. As I turned into their drive way I saw thesign that stated they were ?open?. So I hurriedly entered to order, I noticed they closed at 3 pm on the website. I enter thestore and notice 2 customers and 2 staff. I approach the counter to order and to ask about their policy for phone orders. Iexplain to the counter person that I?ve been on hold for 16 minutes and 58 seconds; I even showed her my phone because I wasSTILL on hold. Her response to me was priceless: ?I just forgot!? Wow, I was floored! I knew my stomach was growling and Ineeded to move past that to order this sandwich. I proceed to state my order and she tells me ?we do not take food orders after2:00!? Excuse me! She repeated it. So now I?ve wasted 17 minutes on hold only to drive over and still cannot be served!!!! What type of service is this??!! I have never dined at the restaurant before. But, the take-out food I have had from Honey B Ham Co has been excellent. I've... had the ham from here, which is PERFECT. It makes for a great addition to any holiday meal. And, their chicken and sausage gumbois PHENOMENAL. It's seriously one of the best gumbos around. We've been buying the gumbo by the pints for years. It is NOTgreasy and has a plentiful amount of quality chicken and sausage. Read more
