Great experience! First time here for dinner at Mammas & Pappas and was not disappointed. Clean and comfortable atmosphere... with great attentive service. Started with appetizers of stuffed breadsticks and hand breaded mushrooms and both were spot on. Our table had a little of everything for the main course and all were great. Try the breaded tenderloin. Beast I?ve had. Bigand thick cut and not overdone. It is probably big enough for two to share but it was so good you may not want to. Had a great dinner here tonight! My parents just moved to Mitchell and have been hearing good things about this place. So when... my husband and I came up from Florida to visit, they knew they wanted to take us here. And I?m glad we did! The dining area wasclean, our waitress Molly was so fast and sincerely friendly, and the food was delicious. We were just traveling through town and decided to stop and grab something to eat. The atmosphere inside isn't what anyone would... call bougie but it looked to be clean. The day was nice so we opted to dine on the patio. The food was excellent. We got aroast beef Manhattan and the potatoes are obviously made from fresh and not instant. We also got a sirloin steak dinner. Thesteak was cooked properly and very tender although I would have preferred that it be seasoned a little more. I added the saladbar to my meal and I'm so glad that I did! Everything was fresh and there was a generous variety of salad toppings to choosefrom. In addition to the standard salad bar items they also had chicken and dumplings and garlic cheddar biscuits on thebar. The final part of my review is the service. Rarely do you find such personable and friendly service anymore. And asfriendly as they were they were equally as efficient. TL:DR at the bottom As my S/O and myself were walking in we were greeted by, I'm guessing, some stray dogs roaming the parking... lot. Sure, no fault to the restaurant but definitely a precursor to what we had in store... We were sat rather quickly, and ourdrinks came just as quick. I noticed the music was unnecessary loud. The sweet tea was okay, but the sodas had some carbonationissues making them taste flat. We pushed on onto ordering, S/O got a medium rare steak with bake potatoe and green beans, I gotthe Mexican burger with fries. Oh, I also ordered a half order cheese curds. The food came out, frist thing I noticed was I hadlike 13 fries. I'm not sure you can call that a order of fries. S/O cut open her steak to find it basically medium well... Notmed rare. Once our waitress came back she explained the issue and the steak was promptly taken back for one hopefully mediumrare. We also remind her that we were missing our curds. As we waited for the steak we went ahead and ate, my burger was verylack luster. Nothing better to say. Basic. Her baked tator had foil actually inside of it from where they cut it open. Theredemption steak came out and we cut into with the waitress next to us and found it was just well done. She called her managerand took it off our bill and brought us a full order of curds but charged us for a half. Shout out to Maddie. But overall. Not agood experience. TL:DR Sat quickly, music was loud, soda was uncarbonated, Mexican burger was disappointing, only had 13 fries.Steak was wrong twice. Baked tator had foil actually inside from cutting. Met family for dinner and was impressed with the quality of service and food ...we had a group of 7 and even though our server... was a hostess and had never had a big group she did very well. I had the breaded pork steak and took half home with me becausethe portion is beyond generous. Everyone was extremely pleased with their choice of dinner options. Just as the name says, it?s a mom and pop restaurant. Waitress are not robots, they are small town raised and treat you like... family (when you act it), and the food reminds you of any standard small diner.
