Was here for a wedding reservation. The venue is nice, picturesque, but the lodgings are overpriced in my opinion, particularly... because the amenities seem to be outdated, being passed off as "rustic". No temperature control in rooms, leaky faucets,low-power toilets, etc. If you're going to stay here I would definitely recommend the Grand over the Inn, as I stayed in both.However I don't know why you would stay here outside of it being a wedding venue, it is very pricey. Also, this place is veryexplicit about you not having outside alcohol on premises. They try to explain it away by using NH state law, but it's prettyobvious they use that as a foil to get you to buy their overpriced alcohol on site. Do not leave any empties in your room- andthey don't have any convenient places on the property that I could immediately see for you to dispose of them. Outside of thestuff I mentioned above, the lodgings were still comfortable as long as you're smart enough to work around certain things. Wecooled our room down from the building temperature of 72(?) degrees by opening a window because our thermometer was locked witha passcode. We TOTALLY DID NOT DRINK OUTSIDE BEVERAGES ON SITE but in case you're wondering there's a little shopping centerright across the street within walking distance where you can go to a local bar and there are garbage cans present. Our group of four went to the restaurant expecting a good meal. Two of the meals were very very poor (Thick cut pork chops... grilled with seasoning). The meat was very over cooked and tough -- like leather. I told the manager this-- then the managersaid we should have said something earlier. Well ?? who wants to have something else made while half of the party is alreadyeating. (ans. no one). Nothing else was suggested by the management to assuage the poor food we paid for. A very charming Inn. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy, the bathrooms are very functional-separate shower and bath. ... The feel of the place is quaint and very New England. The restaurant and Tavern are a must see. Read more
Front desk was not helpful. Had a major problem and needed help. Called the front desk, no answer. Went right down and... Sebastian was standing right by the phone. Four friends also went. They ordered a room with two queen size beds. They receiveda room with one king size bed and when they went down to the front desk to inquire they were asked “can’t they make thatwork?” And that it was their “issue “ because they never called to confirm a room with two queen beds. So they showedhim the email confirmation they had for the reservation with two queen size beds, no apology nothing. Then tried to make thempay $120 extra for the room with two queen size beds. Thought we were on a reality tv show. A woman knocked on the door statingroom inspection. We had never called for an inspection. She had a long stick with double sided tape. Just what are you lookingfor.. You can’t make this stuff up. Read more

I have been a wedding photographer for 13 years now and this is the worst venue I’ve ever been to. The wedding coordinator was... not helpful or easy to work with. The location itself has very few places outside for photos. The field they recommended forphotos had TONS of trash from the wedding the night before. The “pretty garden with lights” had multiple bulbs out. It hasbeen an editing nightmare. The food was an hour late and I literally had one minute to eat so I didn’t miss events, such asthe cake cutting, speeches, sunset photos, and the kick off song for dancing. The inside was just ok, not at all worth what theycharge. The entire dance floor was bouncing when people were dancing. Overall just very disappointed and I won’t be bookinganother wedding there. The guests (friends of mine) also had very negative comments aside from what I had seen. If you’relooking for a venue for your wedding, drive the extra hour north for a decent venue that’s worth it!!
