4 stars for our first visit two Fridays ago, 1 star for our most recent visit this past weekend. 2 stars overall taking both... into account. Both reviews below. 1 star - we called at 5:30pm to see if there happened to be any cancellations. They said nobut confirmed their bar was first come first serve (only seats 4). Wife and I figured we'd give the bar seating a chance andshowed up around 7. There were two empty seats. I tell the hostess we'd like the seats at the bar assuming there was still noavailability for a table. She says the bar seats are being held for someone almost there. I tell her I didn't realize we couldcall ahead and she says they don't allow that but that they are almost here. I argued out of annoyance that first come firstserve means I was there first if they say you can't call ahead. She says that the other couple is finishing up their drinks andwould call me when they left. I said great. Gave my name and number and we went nearby for a drink. After 30 minutes we walkedby and there was a different couple sitting in the seats we were going to get a call for, no missed calls... I didn't bothergoing in, we are somewhere else. 4 star - we were with another couple and had a great time. Oysters were on point, the brie wassolid. My wife said her tuna was great. Me and a friend both got filets, ordered medium but they came out medium well. No reasonto fuss when we were enjoying our time. Service was pretty good. The place is small and cozy, great spot overall for a nicedinner out. Read more

An exquisite dining experience. Started with an appetizer of tender malpeque oysters. Entree was a perfectly prepared braised... pork shank in fig pork jus that falls off the bone and melts in your mouth, accompanied by a delicious balanced pinot noir.Finished with a very special pumpkin bread pudding topped with homemade ice cream, accompanied by a chilled cordial of FraAngelica. Excellent warm and friendly service in a comfortable cozy intimate atmosphere. So many wonderful menu choices. I wantto go back again & again and have each one! Read more

It really is not worth it anymore. The portions were so small last time. The waitress just wasn’t into having us there. It... actually wasn’t a good experience. There were hardly any even vegetables on our plate. The charcuterie board is half the sizeof the same one at The Local for the same price. Sorry the local has us for an hour or not you ever again. Also The Local isall about customer service. Making sure each customer is happy. This was not how it was last time I was there at all verydisappointing. Read more

The oyster soup/stew was outstanding. The ribeye I got had a red wine reduction that it didn't need. If you order the ribeye I... would suggest asking for the red wine reduction on the side, or better just off the plate. Our waitress was friendly andanswered all of our questions and requests. Brussels were burned and no seasoning. Scallops and salmon were under cooked and raw in the center. Cheap whisky for the old... fashioneds. Let's see what dessert brings...cold dessert that is supposed to be warmed....Loved the atmosphere and staff. Read more

We enjoyed this restaurant on date night. Our server was great and we had no wait on drink refills. I enjoyed the oysters for... appetizer and my husband enjoyed the charcuterie board. For entree I loved the scallops and my husband the steak. My sparklingchampagne drink was also quite good. Fortunately we had room for dessert and the bread pudding was delicious. Read more
