Interesting gift shop, great service, great food. I love to stop in before I go to Medora every time.
Visited Trapper's Kettle 8/7/22. Loved the atmosphere, it's perfect. Service was ssssssssllllllooooowwww. We had French Dip and... tater tots and my wife had eggs over easy, toast and bacon. Hers was hot and delicious. Mine was cold. Stone cold, as if it hadsat in the pass for 20 minutes. I asked for mayo to dip the tots and got a thimble of mayonnaise. When I mentioned it was to dipthe waitress said that would cost extra. I based my rating on this visit thinking it was an off day or new staff and giving thebenefit of the doubt. I feel like I need to add this; My first selection was biscuits and gravy. The waitress told me that thegravy had gone bad and so the item was not available. "The gravy had gone bad". The gravy for this dish is four ingredients,butter, milk, flour and breakfast sausage then season to taste. It can be made in less than four minutes by the simplest cook.It should be made to order not sitting in a pot to go bad. Read more
We are traveling for few days & stopped to get gas. He asked for lunch recommendation & was told this place was good. There were... lots of cars so we went in. Trapper?s Kettle was so interesting. The wild animals were everywhere. So many & such big ones. Theyhad displays honoring different trappers. Traps were displayed on walls. Very interesting. The menu was large. The food wasgood. The ice cream was good. Iced tea in North Dakota! How wonderful!! The service was good. You should go! Read more

Trapper's Kettle is a little place that we will time ourselves to arrive at when we are travelling. We always make sure to stop... for a meal. Love the stories that come from everything you see in here. Read more
Very busy place to go for lunch? on side note if passing thru not many other places available on this exit- went Sunday... afternoon bout 1 :30pm - they were closing early due to staff shortages- unfortunately we had to wait for a table over 15 - 20minutes -don?t be in a hurry- food was hot n we filled up - service was good ???? ice cream scoop to go was fun ???? ( ps don?ttry to browse gift shop or spend your money if you have ice cream in hand - as you?ll be hackled at to please keep ice cream outof gift shop - OK but you have to walk through parts your gift shop to get to the exit door ?I would understand if it was achild under 10 years old and they were sniffling and drooling and had ice cream going everywhere -but when you ask an almostadult and parent if they don?t take their ice cream into your gift shop - (seriously)then you?re just losing out on thatpossibility of revenue - was going to buy a souvenir but that was a big big turn off. We left immediately-I didn?t need tospend any more money there if that?s how you?re going treat people. You might want to rethink that policy and delivery ofmessage -FYI for future scolding and possibly revenue from future customers-thanks!! Read more
Awesome decor. Animal mounts all over the place! Self serve soups in n a cast iron bucket with handle. Big salad bar in shape of... a boat. .... Waitress was obviously a HS girl. Service was very slow. Very yummy food though. The gift shop has even more mountsand fun to explore. Read more
