I love Bellefonte, such a beautiful town. We stopped in for lunch, I really liked my food, pork dip (like french dip, but with... pork). The fries were extra good. I think they're short staffed, but everything got to the table hot and the service was good. Read more
Right in downtown, this old pub has a nice selection of drinks and pub fare. The pumpkin cake was devine!

My friends and I came here after hiking Mount Nittany and we loved it! A wonderful atmosphere with amazing Halloween decorations... and great food and service. I had the shepherds pie, which was pretty good (more mashed potatoes!!), but the real treat was thepumpkin pie cake. A wonderful cream cheese frosting to pumpkins cake ratio, soft, moist, probably the best pumpkin dessert I'veever had. The service was a little slow, but they were clearly understaffed and we didn't have to wait too long, so we didn'tmind at all. Absolutely would recommend this place! Read more
After going to 4 other places for lunch who were done with lunch or had long wait times, we finally made it here at probably... around 3:30. There was no wait and we got seated very shortly after we came in. It is a nice, small restaurant. We didn't haveto wait too long for our food. The turkey club sandwich was very good. The service was just fine. However I was startled when the cook came out and questioned me on why I sent back my steak. I... ordered medium which by definition is pink throughout the steak It was well to just slightly medium-well. I was so embarrassedas she brought the plate out! I did get new steak cooked to the correct medium temperature however I had to wait for my mealand no discount was offered whatsoever or apology. The server was more than gracious, not her fault but unbelievable to have acook come out and question a customer! The owner was not on site so I had told the server please let them know the cook shouldnot degrade a paying customer. I did inform the cook I've eaten at Ruth Christie's and Morton's steakhouse and I know how toorder a steak cooked to my liking. Read more
Love this place and the surrounding area has a charm that's tough to beat. Had the Chorizo chili which was delicious with just... enough heat and the Fish and Chips. Now. To be clear, these are the best Fish and Chips I have ever had. Ever. No comparison inthe way that others can't even be in the same room. I live in South Florida and there is a place in Pembroke Pines (about 20minutes from where I live) that has deservedly won Best F&C's in America since 2018. That is until now. They are nowhere nearwhat we had at The Governor's Pub. Yuengling breading.. amazing. Crispy and light, and the fish was flaky and perfect. Even thetartar sauce was a delight.
