My father?s 70th birthday was held at San Souci, and I could not have been more disappointed. First, the food was terrible.... Everyone I spoke to echoed my experience with the chicken: it was so dry it was inedible. It had obviously been cooked earlierand reheated for too long in the oven (probably left over from an event earlier in the week), and I couldn?t even cut it with asteak knife. The vegetables were way undercooked and not seasoned, and the prime rib was nearly raw. When I spoke to the chefafter, he seemed angry, but agreed to make some accommodation for the poor quality (they took half the price off the 10 chickenplates). There was a nice selection of teas on the dessert table, but no hot water to make them. I expected a carafe of coffeeand boiling water for tea, and when we asked, they brought out a couple individual cups of tepid water. The servers were sweetbut clearly not prepared for a group. And 14 of our guests cancelled at the last minute due to a blizzard. My mother (who liveson a government pension and saved for a year for this) knew she would have to pay for those plates, but when she asked if shecould take some of the leftovers home, she was told no. I would never go to this restaurant again, and would strongly advisepeople looking for a place to host an event look elsewhere. Read more

Went there for a birthday and everybody ordered chicken or prime rib. I had the chicken and the outside was so hard and burnt,... the inside was pretty good but for other people there apparently it was raw. Honestly I wasn't looking to judge the restaurantbecause that's just odd, but the waiters weren't talking or smiling. I didnt care much about that, but when you said thanks orasked for something, they just nodded and walked away. Im not a waiter so I dont know how hard it is, but they could have atleast talked back. Prime rib was good for everyone who had it, but coffee and tea was also ordered, and we didnt even get that.We had to ask around three times just for them to bring only coffee out. Again, the food really wasnt horrible, I just wouldntgo there again. Read more

The rib eye sandwich is one of Belleville?s best. Nice and quiet spot to enjoy a coffee and great food.

Just got home from celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary at Sans Souci. The atmosphere was wonderful, the set up of the room... was perfect, the meal was exceptional with particular attention to food allergies of some of the guests. During the planningstages Greg and his staff were so accommodating. The Servers were freindly, professional and again sooo accommodating. 5 starsare really not enough!! Read more

Always love grabbing lunch here! Update: I held my Mother's 75th birthday here a couple weeks ago. The venue, food and staff... were excellent. Greg had lost his own Mother that same week and could of cancelled our event understandably, but did not. Evenin a terrible time in his life he delivered exceptional service and made my Mother's birthday one to remember! Thank you so verymuch! Read more

We hired Sans Souci for our wedding for a 3-course meal on June 18, 2022 in Prince Edward County. The food and service was... AMAZING! Usually at weddings and other catered events, you don't receive decent sized portions but we were very impressed andthe taste of everything was delicious. The servers were very tentative and dinner went very smoothly. Greg was very easy to workwith leading up to our big day - we had to postpone last summer and he was extremely accommodating with that as well. You cantell he is a seasoned chef and caterer because the execution was flawless. I should mention the pricing was very reasonable aswell. It was all around a great experience and we will definitely look to Greg and his team for future catering needs. Thankyou! Read more

Retirement dinner for a friend was very well done. Offered 3 entrees: prime rib, salmon and chicken. All excellent from comments... at our table. Chicken was a very large portion, extra came home. Staff friendly, well mannered and helpful but not overbearing.Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend for any occasion. Read more

The food here used to be fantastic! I'd always order the rib eye sandwich and it would always be so juicy that it would drip... down my forearms and be full of flavour. Now, I receive dried out deli meat and get told it's rib eye. It wasn't even warm. Youcan seriously use this meat as kindling. It didn't even have even close to the correct toppings. Read more
