Here's the story that sums up this place: I recently moved across the street from 1up and instantly dug it. Because of the move... from Baltimore, I did not have any games for a month. Tough for an og gamer like myself. I luckily received a "broken" PS4 froma friend. I got the wires, a controller, factory reset it, then, it won't recognize the controller. Since I bought a minicontroller not a legit dual shock, I could not initialize the console from the reset. I asked Collette, a very friendly gal whowas working during the day, if she could help me by letting me borrow a controller in exchange for my wallet as collateral. Shegraciously accepted. I kept running into problems unfortunately. On my third and final try, a different employee with badasshair named McKenzie (charming) told me my problem was I needed a data transfer cable. And vwaala! A working PS4. So now, whilemy games download, I had to shout out how awesome Collette and McKenzie are. Thank you so much for welcoming a fellow nerd intoFairhaven. I will definitely be back and to the game shop next door for Magic night. Overall...Super chill vibez. Affordable.Good food. Strong drinks. And again, a very sweet staff. This place is outstanding!! Over 3,000 games and a ton of console types, plus delicious snack food and both kid/adult beverages.... This place is probably the most affordable and comfortable place to game for all ages in Whatcom County. It can be a little bittricky to find if you are mapping it. The best way to do this is to map Cafe Blue (an adorable coffee shop right near it). Whenyou get to the cafe, you'll see a brick alleyway on the left that goes back behind the cafe. Go all the way down the alley, andall the way to the right and you'll see the entrance to 1-up! Read more
Came here for the first time for my buddies bachelor party. This place is next level awesome. The beer is cold, the food is... good and the staff is super friendly. Being able to play video games I grew up on and have a couple beers with friends wasinsanely fun. Probably my favorite part about this place is the chill vibe this place gives off. Everyone is extremelyfriendly. This is by far my new favorite place in Bellingham. Read more
I took my boyfriend here for our date night and it was both of our first times. I appreciate that they check vaccination status... and seemed to be consistent with it. Biggest downside is that the drinks were a bit pricy for what you get. It wasn’t until Iswitched to a cider that I felt like it was worth my money.
