Great little place! Very happy they had a vegan option, I am from England and it's hard to find a good pasty, Holly's did not... disappoint. We hadn't been to Holly's since they set up in their permanent location but we'd heard they had vegan options. The Vegan Veggie... is just off the chain amazing - rich, flavorful and satisfying - perfect comfort food! Very much like a traditional pot pie,only better. They offered two sauces, a spicy ketchup and a barbeque - both were really tasty, though I would have maybe likedsomething that went with a lighter-sauce pie. Vegan garlic aioli, maybe? Special shout-out to the staff. We called ahead when werealized they were closing and they were happy to get our order ready at the last minute - and made sure it was piping hot! Alittle out of our price range for frequent visits, but we'll be back again when we can afford it - especially want to try theirother vegan standard or any pies of the month that are plant-based. Absolutely delicious! We tried a breakfast one, the classic chicken pot pie, and the pecan bars. The breakfast one was a bit... sausage heavy but I loved it! The chicken pot pie was incredible! I've never had such a crispy, flaky perfect crust! We alsohappened to meet the owner when we picked our order up and she was so nice! Can't wait to go back to try more! Read more
finally got a chance to visit! I was warmly greeted at their takeout window which has a variety of greatest-hits items... available (I think the expanded menu is for take home?) and happily ordered a Beef Meat Pie that was about the size and shape ofa calzone. The pastry is flaky and flavorful and the filling was hearty and nicely seasoned. A sauce is included for dippingthat brought out some extra beefiness. Overall was pleased and will look forward to returning to Holly's to try the chicken potpie! Read more
Finally had an opportunity to try Holly's Meat Pies today and decided to go with the Vegan Veggie Pasty. It was so tasty that I... didn't even stop to get a proper photo for this review. Service was fast and friendly and the pie came out piping hot. To mysurprise there was a serving of each of the sauces that they sell, and they were both absolutely delicious! It is safe to saythat for a shop with meat in the name that they make some spectacular vegan food. The crust was flavorful and flaky and thefilling was fantastic. I look forward to going back and will be recommending to friends. Read more
A group of us were on the Downtown Holiday Wine Walk this eve and my husband?s request was to get some meat pies from Holly?s... Meat pies! We got 4 pies including lamb, pork empanada, chicken pot pie, and vegan veggie. We had taste tests of all 4 and noneof us could decide which one we liked the best! (We loved them all!) We now have plans to include these meat pies in a tastetest at our home with friends! PS?as we were walking back to our car when finishing up the evening, we ran into Holly as she wasclosing up and we wanted to let her know how much we enjoyed our meat pies?she sent us home with some pies!!!
