The atmosphere is perfect. I asked for a random mixer and the bartender did not disappoint. Simple, tasteful, and relaxing. A+
Had high hopes - but those were dashed! Slow service ? be advised: the chicken with provolone is CANNED chicken on white bread,... with one piece of tomato the size of a quarter smashed (in maybe a panini grill? or not). Well, well, well! What a FIND!!! Just awesome! What a great host (Kurt) along with an outstanding cocktail, wine, whiskey... listing, snacks, food and more. We had a wonderful glass of Chardonnay that was seriously UNDER PRICED (we would have gladlypaid double!!) combined with the ?local? vibe and music, we can see this becoming a regular haunt for my wife and I. My husband and I visited Bellingham for a few days to see some friends and The Blue Abode was a huge highlight on our trip! We... aren't typically bar-goers given the super loud music and club like atmospheres but this one was just perfect! It's small andintimate with oldies playing in the background and the lighting at the tables and bar area give a great ambience. While we werethere, we tried 3 of their special cocktails, all which were very tasty but especially loved the Cherry Collins! The service wassuper great as we ordered those with some appetizers and we had fun getting to know the bartender a little who was very friendlyand personable. Great place to stop for a drink. I had the Rittenhouse Manhattan and it was really good. I ordered the bacon and brie sandwich... with a side of soup and it hit the spot. Read more
