This is the third time we have eaten here and have loved it every time. Unfortunately, we have not been in a while and randomly... decided to go again tonight. We ordered the stuffed Swiss chard, lamb shank, duck confit, and house made desert. Everything wasamazing! The chard with the sauce was spectacular, so much so my husband said we had to try and make this on the regular. Iordered the lamb shank which was absolutely cooked to perfection, tenderness with perfectly cooked turnips, carrots, beans andspinach in a delicious sauce. The duck confit was not as I expected, but honestly they could bottle that sauce and sell it. Theduck was very good, with mushrooms and greens, and scrumptious al dente pasta in the most flavorful sauce. After eating everybite we could on our plates we ordered the house made desert, a flan like dish, but better, the perfect light sweet, but not toosweet, dish to end a decadent great meal. Read more
Avoid this place. Serious overcharge for alcohol ($17 for a bourbon manhattan) and $5 additional charge if you use a credit... card. Food was ok. Ownership refused to accomodate. Read more
Everything was going well and enjoyed our dinner last night until surprised at payment time when told of a 4% upcharge if I used... a credit card! Paid in cash and left more than 20% tip (hope it went to the server). We were talking about coming back againwith others during dinner but now maybe not. Such a "policy" should be posted on their website, or the menu. Unless we weresingled out in discrimination. Read more
Needed a place to stop for a to-go order and found this place nearby. I was weary of the 4.3 stars, but went with it. They... closed within a half hour of me ordering and they still took my order kindly over the phone. When I arrived, the host was verysweet and friendly while I waited another few minutes. To my surprise, I opened the take out and it was packaged so neatly andwith such care/effort, which doesn't come often with take out. Not a hip, loud trendy spot...more of an elegant restaurant with soft jazz. The food was outstanding and presented beautifully.... I highly recommend the warm spinach salad, the mussels and the short rib app over polenta! The bread with humus and olive oilwhile waiting for your meal were yummy. Service was awesome. Nice establishment but the food is just ok for the price. We went there on a Monday, which is pasta special night. Basically, it... is a 3 course meal with pasta being the main dish. You get the option of soup or salad, choice of pasta dish, and choice ofdessert. We got the pasta special for the kids and we got meat entrees ourselves. I got the lamb chops which was quite good. Mywife had the flat iron steak which unfortunately was very tough. It was cooked perfectly medium rare but super chewy anddifficult to cut. The pasta was fine. The kids are not picky. I don't think they are fresh pasta but that's fine. The asparagussoup was good and the chocolate cake was quite tasty. Overall, the service was great, staff was friendly, and food was generallygood. However, at the price point offered here, I would opt for other Italian restaurants such as Fiorellas in Newton. Read more
