During Charlotte Restaurant Week I wanted to take it up a notch with some fine dinning. I got a 3 course meal with Rosé on the... side and let me tell you ... I was beyond happy with every bite. The crab cake was smaller in size then I liked but definitelytasty! The Braised Lamb Pappardelle ( I definitely recommended this dish) had so much flavor with every bite and the Carrot CakeCupcake was so moist and paired so well with the apricot mousse. I was so excited to try this place. I figured the views of the lake in an elegant setting and delicious food, win-win situation.... Three and a half Stars is my rating. First the good parts, beautiful decor, outside dining with lake views. The salmon. The notso good, kind of loud at times probably due to the high ceilings. The bugs on the patio were terrible! Portions were very smallfor the price. Tables are not very comfortable for four people. Although I do believe I saw a few tables that were a littlelarger. Was in the area decided to stop by while it was restaurant week. I must say the atmosphere, customer service, and location was... very upscale and relaxing with a Mixed crowd. The drinks the bar tender made were delicious. They also have fresh bread of theweek which was pretty good and my salad was delicious the balsamic vinegarett dressing topped it off perfectly. I also had theadd-on marinated shrimp which was cooked perfectly as well as the cocktail shrimp. The salmon and braised lamb we ordered weactually took home and threw away it wasn\'t cooked to our liking but to each its own. One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! Came to drift for the first time for me and my boyfriend’s first... anniversary. Our server was Erin and she is just the absolute BEST! She really engaged in conversation and cared about makingsure our first experience was everything and more. The crab cakes and ribeye were excellent - she even helped pair our courseswith wine and cocktails. And don’t forget about the lake view! Highly recommend and we definitely will be back! Read more
We had a lovely experience at Drift. It\'s a nice new building building with a good atmosphere. Lots of openness so when the... weather is nice you feel like you\'re sitting outside by the lake. The beef tartar and smoked salmon appetizers were delicious. The specialty ribeye and prime rib were delicious. The kid menu wasn\'t that kid friendly, with options having an adult taste.Our server was pleasant and attentive. One negative was that they placed 5 of us at a table for 4. We ordered a lot of foodand spent a lot of money and the space that we were given to eat it was much too small. Although the offer was made to move, wewere all settled and had received our drinks and apps, so we decided to stay where we were. Read more
My friends and I dined here last night. We had a great time. Haley was our server and she provided great customer service. The... ambience is exceptional. 2 things I would suggest for improvement...\n\n1. Food could use a little more seasoning\n\n2.Temperature - I would prefer the dishes to come out sizzling. Ours seemed a bit luke warm.\n\nI do understand the restaurant hasonly been open for a couple of weeks and I think the restaurant will have great success once the kinks get worked out. What an experience!! Lake Wylie is very fortunate to have this restaurant! If you’re looking for great food and a great time... then you should definitely stop by drift. The food and drinks are amazing everyone!! Definitely worth the dollars spent! Butwhat really makes it a great experience is Everyone was so friendly from managing staff to the young man who gave us ourentrees. Just a warm and energetic environment all around. Something you would not typically get at a fine dining experiencelike this one. We enjoyed a Sunday brunch here with a nice outdoor view overlooking Lake Wylie. It was our first visit and didn\'t disappoint.... The tomato soup appetizer was perfect for a slightly chilly morning. We also enjoyed the Filet and Eggs and the Chicken andFunnel Cakes. We were seated right away and the service was friendly. The only improvement is they could have been betterstaffed. There were a couple of times we waited an unusual amount of time between visits from our server. The place is verylarge and can accommodate a lot of patrons. Read more
