Finally came here the other week and really enjoyed myself. We came on a weekday during lunch hour and it wasn’t too crowded.... Our server, who’s name I can’t remember, was wonderful. The food was absolutely to die for. I had the Chicken and Grits andthey were mouthwatering. We had the biscuits as an appetizer and they were warm and buttery, only thing I wish is that they werecomplimentary .I’m always skeptical when places try to modernize Southern food, but they’ve done a great job doing so. Nellie's is amazing as people say it is. This is by far one of me and hubby's favorite food spots in the quaint and beautiful... town of Belmont. From their service to food and drinks, everything here is top tier. This go round I indulged in some amazinglyseasoned fried okra and a Berry Breeze Mimosa so fresh and yummy. Went to Nellie's for dinner last night with my wife. It was her 1st time and my 2nd time. I HAD to let her try this spot! We... started with the collard and artichoke dip. DO NOT MISS THIS APPETIZER!! It's SO good. No need to even think about NOT orderingit! My wife had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. She originally wanted trinity corn instead of veggies, butthey were out. But our attendant, Emily, surprised us by bringing out an order of the corn as the kitchen had just finishedpreparing more (nice surprise)! My wife thoroughly enjoyed her dish! I had the fried chicken (white meat) with drunken collardsand mac & cheese. I was concerned about ordering white meat since some places tend to serve dry chicken breasts, but Emilyassured me that the chicken there is very good and she has never had a complaint about it being dry. Well, from the pics Iattached, you can see that the chicken definitely was NOT dry!! I'm salivating at the thought of how JUICY that chicken was!!The mac & cheese didn't look cheesy but the flavor was really good. And the collards were really good as well. There wasn'tanything that we ate last night that we didn't like. They have live music from 6pm and it can be kinda loud, but the young18-year old guy singing while playing the guitar was actually pretty good (it's just too bad he didn't know how to play the songI requested). I really enjoyed this restaurant. The venue was charming & perfect. I enjoyed the food as well. Wish I was able to try more of... the menu, but I will be back. The fried green tomatoes were some of the best I've ever had. Classic southern dishes with addedmodern flair. ???????? Read more
I love love love this place! I took my best friend and her mom there for her mom’s birthday! They loved it! They had a great... band playing (Thursday 2/17/22) they had us grooving in our seats! Plus the band sang Happy birthday! We tipped them $20.Because that was super sweet and they rocked! I had the shrimp and grits which was so tasty, my BFF had the Cobb salad withshrimp, the birthday girl momma Shirley had a Cobb salad with chicken. Appetizers we had fried okra, fried squash and everythingwas delicious! Customer service was at its finest!! Do we recommend heck yea! The managers stop by the table as well and saidhappy birthday! Boyfriend took me for surprise brunch! First time going but had been wanting to try for awhile. Beautiful inside, warm... lighting, very friendly staff-our waitress was sweet and helped us make our food decisions. We had the fried okra as anappetizer- really good. I had salmon with Mac and cheese and Sweet Caroline (mashed sweet potatoes w/glazed pecans) - delicious.He had chicken and waffles and both the chicken and waffle were really good. We also had their $5 mimosas-got us right early inthe day ???? Lastly, there was live music which the website does mention and we enjoyed that as well. We’ll definitely return. Read more
My first time at Nellie’s and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Molasses Glazed Salmon with green beans and macaroni and... cheese. The atmosphere was amazing with artwork all around , even the tables and chairs , the chandeliers even offeredpersonality and gave the restaurant a great ambience. My dish was very tasteful the Salmon was my favorite, offering sweet andsavory flavors. The macaroni and cheese by itself I would give a 3.5 only because the cheese used tasted like Ricotta cheeseused in Lasagna. The green beans were very amazing . I dined in on a night where Live music was offered, the artist wasamazing, played guitar and could sing very well . I appreciate his craft, dedication and talent, however, the music was a littleloud for my liking as I couldn’t hear my date talking very well and had to slightly raise my voice to talk . The manager wasvery nice and came to check on our table multiple times with a smile. I will definitely be returning to try even more things onthe menu. Read more
This restaurant is a guaranteed winner!! The biscuits basket appetizer is a true southern delight. Tender, flaky biscuits with... soft butter and strawberry jam. Yum! The shrimp and grits had a Cajun flavored cream sauce with large shrimp. It was loaded withflavor and a very generous portion. Some of the best I’ve ever had. The side salad was fresh. The star of the salad was thehomemade ranch dressing. It’s so good you will want to ask for two servings! Read more
