A little treasure of a find. Really quite quirky and cool. I enjoyed the atmosphere just as much as the food and drink.

This is one of my favorite places in southern WI. Wonderful local items -- the hot sauces are our faves--, it's a great place to... have lunch (with good vegetarian options), and a well-curated used book selection! We also bought our wedding favors here(little jars of Cherry Bomb hot sauce) and they were perfect! Support this wonderful local business - a gem for sure! Read more

Interesting combination of lunch counter, grocery store, coffee shop and lending library in downtown Beloit. Coffee counter in... the back. Get there during lunch hours for a selection of tasty sandwiches. Grocery shelves include local products from honey topasta to booze, and there's a large cold case and freezer case with meals and sauces to take out. The front part of the store islined with bookshelves, and there are tables and comfy chairs to sit, drink your coffee, and browse through a book. Read more

Love this place. Picking up some of their frozen soups and some 'Immunichi'. Couldn't get out without a muffin for the morning.... Check this place out. Read more

First time in and will repeat time and time again. Shane, the GM, is one of the best guys I know. He takes care of customers and... employees like his own close knit family. The food is amazing! Local grown, farm to table, vegan options, poultry, BloodyMary's, coffee and so much more. Read more

My wife and I had dinner here on our way up to Madison from Chicago. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was good and... really hot the spot. My tuna melt was pretty standard, and my wife's black bean burgers was homemade and delicious. The frenchfries where really good as well. The best was the chocolate peanut butter cheese cake we had, so rich and decadent. The generalstore is also nice and cute. The whole vibe of the place is super welcoming. Read more

I never give 5 stars but this place is worth driving a few miles off of the interstate. They even have a hot sauce and jam... sample station of the things they make. We got the specials; caprese salad and meatloaf sandwich both full of fresh localgoodness. Try their beet ketchup on a local burger Read more
