came upon this place by chance after a day of skiing. great ambience, clean, decorated for christmas. very promising. bread... and homemade maple butter were great. but that's it. food was subpar. 3 of 4 people ordered steak, all to medium temperature. all came rare. also tasted like they rubbed a gallon of salt on the meat as the only seasoning. and with prices like i wouldfind in a NYC restaurant, just not worth a second trip. too bad because i really wanted to like this place. Just finished up our 2021Thanksgiving Dinner at the Publyk House. First time there. Pretty restaurant with a mild rustic feel to... it. Their Thanksgiving menu offered some great options (Turkey, Salmon, Prime Rib, or Pumpkin Ravioli). My family (3 of us) allordered the Prime Rib. Most customers did the same. The Prime Rib had to be one of the best I have ever had. So tender andtasty. The portion size was very generous. Everything was extremely tasty. Serving sizes were decent. However, the salad wasreal skimpy. It was very good, but it was just a small handful of greens on a small plate. The maple balsamic vinegar is reallygood (I am going to make some for myself). The butternut squash soup was my favorite...yum. The restaurant was super busy, yetkitchen managed to turn out some very good dishes. Staff was great, too. Read more
To start off, I don't dislike this place, but I definitely disliked my food (fish and chips), however, the dinner my wife got... was very good (turkey dinner). The staff was polite and friendly and had a good sense of humor. The restaurant filled up fast assoon as it opened, so don't expect to get in without a reservation. I would go there again, but I definitely won't order fishagain. Read more
I cannot remember the last time I ate at a restaurant where everything we had from start to finish was perfection. This is the... one place I would eat every night if I had a choice. Simply amazing meal. Ambiance was beautiful and friendly. Our meals were,for me, I had the king cut prime rib special, baked potato, asparagus and the salad bar. My wife had Hawaiian chicken, bakedpotato, asparagus and salad bar. For drinks I had a raspberry-peach margarita or two and she had a strawberry margarita. Eventhe drinks were flawless. Wow, what a phenomenal experience & restaurant. Definitely top notch. A big highlight to my amazing Vermont trip. Highly... recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for a great meal with an amazing view. Staff are very friendly andattentive . Food is well thought of with flavors that compliment each other. Great presentation of the food, with a generousamount. Prices are fair. Salad bar with a loaf of bread & maple butter to start the meal with an order of an entree. Ipersonally loved the brie appetizer & teriyaki sirloin with grilled pineapple entree. If you have the opportunity, sit outsidein the patio/ deck facing the memorial monument. It's a great experience if you saw it up close & personal and now sitting fromafar taking in the view and history of this particular location by enjoying an amazing meal with good energy and ambience. I want to be honest: this was the best restaurant and the best meal we had during our whole Vermont vacation! The place is... really nice and interesting with the right vibes. Nice the idea of self service salads: I got myself a good salad with allingredients I liked, everything fresh. Then I had meatloaf: it was delicious, something for what I would drive 4 hours to goback and eat again. My wife had lobster mac and cheese, delicious too. We ate here twice during our week in the area. Once with a group of 9 (pics of the baked Cod and stuffed salmon) and then with a... group of 4. It was great each time and everyone loved their choices for dinner. The salad bar is fresh and has a really nicevariety. We hope to return anytime we are able to visit the area.
