I've prob eaten 200+ times at various Gold Stars over the past 25 years, including this one 3-5 times. Just about every time... there has been some issue. Ask for no mustard on coney, got mustard on two separate occasions. I stopped there late Sept,ordered 3 way, coney, and soda. Service was terrible. No communication, no checking after initial delivery of food. Littleskimpy on cheese compared to others. Drink machine had issues and didn't get drink until I was about done with food. And tobeat all, I ordered a side of extra cheese and my wife had to go request it a 2nd time. It came very chilled/slight frozen in acup! I've ordered extra side of cheese, many times and not one other GS brought it cold in a cup! I do not plan to visit thisGS anymore. Sadly, it's on a route I frequent more than any other GS location. I had no idea that cinnamon was put in your chili. I did not eat that and I ordered a hamburger and fries and that was totally... delicious. I asked if the burger has 100% beef. I was told yes. I asked if they can cook the beef burger well done. I was told yes. I then... asked if my burger could be cooked very well done. I even asked the waitress if she knows the difference. I was told yes and shecan have my burger cooked very well done. My burger was served in about 5 minutes. I was hesitant but optimistic. After taking abite it tasted just barely done. It was not cooked very well at all. I took a look at the meat and it was slightly pinkish. Ireported this to the waitress and I asked if they have 100% beef or is this a soybean mixture? She assured me that it is 100%beef. I showed her that the meat was not cooked well, and was definitely not very well done for sure. I asked to swap it forchillie cheese fries. No problem, but it had no flavor. It us my first time visiting here and I am not happy at all. I do notthink that I will be coming back here. I went to this place after it first opened up. I have never went back, and I will not be going back to any Gold Star Chili. It... was honestly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. If the waiting staff at the time was ok, it would have been fine. Iwould just not care. They made fun of me and my mother, and all we did was sit down, order and eat our food, pay and thenleave. I was just so mad when I left. I cant believe I watched the staff do what they did at the time. I just hope that thisplace, has gotten better. Read more
Every time I eat here it's more disappointing than the time before. There's no way you should ever have dry buns left from a... chili cheese sandwich. It's a chili joint, yet it's like the chili is just a garnish. But hey, the building is amazing, and thecrackers are good. That's worth a couple of stars. Read more
Good food and service but.... There were too many teenagers sitting at the food prep counter, walking in and out of the area to... get refills, handling things with dirty hands they should not be handling as well as being in street clothes and not working. Ifemployees are off the clock they should not be around the food or wiping out the soda fountain with 30 refills while wearingtheir ARTIC hoodie coat. But still great food and would have given 5 stars except for that. Read more
