The food was good, but the service was just ok. My server wasn't personable at all and I felt a bit rushed. While I was eating,... she came around and asked if I was going to order anything else as if I was just sitting taking up a table. Prettydisappointing. There were also flies around my table so I was annoyed having to constantly swipe them away while trying to eat.Luckily none landed in my food. So, great sushi but not a great dining experience. Great Sushi (high quality fish and plenty of good rolls) but had terrible service the last time I went. To the waitress who... clearly doesn?t know what she?s doing: I can?t believe I have to explain this to you but do try your best not to be blatantlyrude to and actually argue with your customers over being asked for two extra glasses so I can share my wine with my friends(who BOTH showed you their IDs). You?re in a service industry. It?s literally your job to be patient with your customers. Idon?t care if you disagree with me. At least do the bare minimum required of your job, which is to not be rude. Read more
Great lil spot, authentic sushi and reasonably priced. Often sushi can be hit or miss with a roll or 2 being stellar and rest... average. However this place had excellent choices of rolls. Hardly anything with mayonnaise, lots of all fish rolls with goodthick pieces of tuna, albacore, etc. We will be back here again and again. Read more
Was great the first handful of times, but the rolls have gotten to the point of basically being rice. Miso soup is still better... than most places, but the sushi has suffered a terrible fait. Read more
I love sushi, and I've been to allot of restaurants throughout the bay, and I gotta say that Nikko Sushi is probably my favorite... place now. The service is ridiculously on point. The staff all greet you as soon as you walk in, and they're all so warm andfriendly. The food is wonderful! We got the baked scallop roll, the raiders roll, the Lion King roll, and an appetizer of shrimptempura. We also ordered some sake, because it was $1 an order, which consisted of about 4 little cups worth, and they alsobrought us miso soup. It was all so amazing!! In the 4 years I've lived here I'm not sure why it took me 2 years post grad to finally try this place out. I'm confused. THIS... PLACE IS THE BEST SUSHI PLACE IN BERKELEY. I absolutely adore the Lion King roll and holy cow the chirashi and even the makiwere just amazing. Honestly this place has singlehandedly convinced me to move back and die in the Bay.
