Monterey Fine Foods catered my father-in-law's repast last weekend. Andres was professional, helpful, kind, and very patient -... he offered and delivered every convenience, and the servers were amazing. When they left the place was spotless. The food isamazing, special shout-out for the shrimp tostados, the summer salad, and the onion dip w/homemade potato chips! Woulddefinitely recommend and use them again. Read more

This is an exceptionally well run operation with the owner Steve and head of catering Andres. We celebrated our daughter's 1st... birthday and got the catering done. Steve delivered at our hotel and perfectly set up. We had numerous calls with Andres on menuselection and he was patient and very professional. Finally, the food was incredible and our guests kept asking about thecatering and how well planned the menu was. Not only is the quality amazing, you are dealing with very good people. We had MFF cater our family party this past weekend and we will only use them from now on. The food was DELICIOUS and... beautifully presented. We were so impressed at how easy the whole process was from communicating (Andres was always soresponsive) to having the food delivered and serving it. We had 22 people. We ordered a charcuterie board, Mediterranean salad,tabbouleh salad and room temp food that consisted of filet mignon, fried chicken and tequila lime shrimp with their sides. Weordered room temp food so we wouldn?t have to worry about heating anything. We love this place and can?t wait to use them again! Read more
Just not what it used to be, both the whimsy and quality of the old Monterey Gourmet is no longer. Did we have a decent lunch?... Sure. But it definitely wasn't anything special. We ordered ahead, not realizing the store was literally empty when we arrived.Despite it being slow, our order was still incorrect. The egg salad was blah, the Sloppy Joe was not a true Sloppy Joe (not adouble decker sandwich), the potato salad didn't taste like much of anything and I was unimpressed by the portion sizes. Again,the food was fine but nothing to write home about. I was surprised by the total sparseness of the place. The prepared food inthe deli cases looked pretty good, but there wasn't a whole lot of it. Long story short, I wouldn't be disappointed to eat hereagain but I wouldn't go out of my way to make it happen either. Read more
