7/2021 - I grew up in New York City area so pizza is important to me. We used to take summer trips to Bethany up until the 90?s... when I had to move to Minneapolis. I love the coast so we try to come back as often as we can. I remember regularly eatingGrotto pizza because it was so close to New York style and awesome. We are back this summer and it just doesn?t seems to be thesame. Don?t get me wrong, it?s still very good. But it is not as close to NY as I remember. It?s only reason I didn?t give 5stars. Update 7/2022 - we returned to Bethany Beach and of course had Grotto again. I have changed to 5 stars because pizza wasperfect. I can only assume the pandemic had something to do with it last year because we couldn?t stop ordering it. My daughterloved the veggie and me, I just like plain cheese. Came so close to NY flavor. Grotto?s is a must when your at the beach in Delaware! I?m not a huge tomato sauce person, but their sauce is outstanding. This... is the one place you shouldn?t feel bad ordering a plain pizza, because it is loaded with flavor. Their Bianco pizzas are alsofantastic. The pizza tastes great reheated, so we usually order take-out for two nights and do leftovers the next day. It hasquickly become a family tradition we will never let go of. Read more
Good location if you are into Grotto pizza. Place was larger than it appeared from outside. Service was good and pizzas were... tasty. Not sure I dig the swirl of cheese and sauce but that's what you get with Grotto. The mama Grotto was really good! Read more
We are in town for a baseball tournament. Some of my friends raved about it upon finding out we were playing near Bethany Beach.... So my family and I made it a point to visit. We were not disappointed! Our waiter was great, the restaurant was clean, and mostimportant, the food was fantastic! Reasonably priced. Their secret is in their sauce. Service is super. The pizza isn't as good as it used to be. The crust meh, the sauce meh. Wedge salad fresh and tasty. Wings... were good too. My husband judges any place by the iced tea which was fresh brewed and satisfied. My strawberry margarita didn'tdisappoint either! Overall happy with the visit. Read more

Driving for over an hour and past lunch time we were starving and cane across Grotto Pizza so stopped for lunch. I had heard how... much my chiro?s assistant told me she missed when living in the area. Spacious inside with lots to choose from. My wife had thecheesesteak and I had the pizza. MY wife loved the cheesesteak after adding some red pepper and my slice of pepperoni and blackolives was super. We both had cokes and shared the fries. Nice clean washrooms.
