A very average place. First time here and pizza was good, drinks good, service not so great, the waitress won't show up for long... periods of time to check for more drinks or else needed. The location is the one that probably explains the popularity of theplace. It's a great location where you have a lot of options. The environment of the street it's terrific. Pizza, mini burgers and beer. Overall it was fairly good. I was a little underwhelmed by the taste of everything vs the price.... But it was okay. Service was good. I hold my burgers to a pretty high standard and they could have been a bit more flavorful.Pizza was good but seemed to be missing that extra something to make it stand out. First time at Matchbox. Just missed the happy hour that ends at 6 pm. I'm definitely going to comeback and try it! The kids... menu has the usual: chicken fingers, burger, grill cheese, etc. I really really really wanted to try the fig pizza, but theywere out which tells me it's probably everything I thought it'd be. I did the pork belly sandwich, which was good, but I foundit to be greasy. But, that bang shrimp appetizer was delicious. Our waitress kept up with her tables and the ambiance was neatand modern. Very nice dine in experience! I made reservations and met a friend there for lunch. COVID-19 restrictions were being well... enforced. Everyone was masked, you sign in on arrival so they can track occupancy, hand sanitizer near entrance/exit, andpaperless menus. I ordered the shrimp and fries with a great modification offered by my server--switching the regular batterfor tempura batter. My friend enjoyed his blackened chicken fettuccine. My daughter and I were around the corner getting ice cream. But I guess my husband wasn’t in the mood for the same thing. So... he grabbed a table on the patio at this place and ordered himself a drink and some dessert. The atmosphere was perfect and I didbrowse the menu since we recently had a friend mention loving their pizzas. My husband ordered a drink from the bar and said itwas one of the better ones he’s had in quite a while. He also ordered himself the carrot cake. It was absolutely huge! Perfectproportions of cake versus icing (lots of icing). It also was chock-full of large pieces of walnut. My husband was absolutely inlove with it! It could have been the beautiful day, but lunch out with my grandmother at Bethesda’s #matchbox was was very nice. The wait... staff was pleasant, the food was tasty and we enjoyed the outdoor seating. Read more
Well…not too excited to write this review on this location as the brand has really become super commercial and lacks the... original integrity and charm it once had but here we go…started with the Rose’ Margarita and it was great but out app wasbland and kinda gross it was artichoke spinach dip and it was loose and had 0 flavor…moving on to the Cobb salad and I addedsalmon…the salad had little to no dressing and the salmon was flat and dry…really disappointing the pesto pizza we decentbut again this franchise used to be SO much better …unfortunately I won’t be returning Read more
My first time here and already giving this restaurant 5 stars for excellent service from the start. Great food too. Clean fork... and knives like the ones you use at home wrapped in a clothe napkin. Can you actually see yourselves washing that everyday. You are doing a great service. Bathrooms are also very clean. Waiter was very attentive coming over to see how we wheredoing all the time.
