The only thing I was disappointed with was that I didn't try this place sooner!! By far the best seafood restaurant I've been... to on the east coast. This place that been here forever and I finally found out why. As soon as you pull in the lot, you'regreeted by the complimentary valet service. Walk in the door, another friendly greeting from the hostess. The lot was packedwhen I went but they have plenty of seating and bar seating. The establishment itself was spotless clean which was surprisingfor a place that's been open forever. For the most import part of the review, THE FOOD! Absolutely out of this world. Thecomplimentary bread is so good you'll eat the whole basket. The Thai calamari was our started and was amazing. Just the rightamount of spice and sweet. The squid itself was cool perfect, not rubbery at all. For the main, I wanted to sample, so I got thebroiled combo plate. Generous helpings of everything. I couldn't pick a favorite since it was all so good. The stuffing was veryunique in a good way. Scallops galore in the stuffing. On the side I got the pasta with white clam sauce. I ended up eating thatfor lunch the next day because the portion size was so generous. One thing that really stood out to me was the owner. The ownerwas actually coming to the tables making sure everyone was good, you don't really see that anymore. Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful time. Let's start with the appetizer. The shrimp is plump and delicious topped with... mozzarella cheese and bacon cuts. Second the buffalo wings are honestly one of the most delicious buffalo wings we've had!Crispy, crunchy, and tender with a lot of creamy bleu cheese on the side. Classic buffalo and so packed with flavor. Now for themain event! I ordered a ribeye. The steak was incredibly juicy and bursting with flavor. My boyfriend ordered had a creamy panseared flounder and buttery shrimp and really enjoyed it, was gone in minutes. Neither of us had room for dessert. The oysters and clams were excellent. Service was decent but not great. The cooked food also was decent but not great. Overall... I would recommend this restaurant. Don't go in with ultra high expectations. The owner or chef did come to our table to ask ifeverything was okay. I do appreciate when they do that. Read more
My family of 14 came here for the first time today to break our fast for Ramadan, it was AMAZING, from the food to the staff to... the accommodations they made for us, they went above and beyond!! Seating was perfect and comfortable, food was out of thisworld, so fresh so delicious, the presentation of the food it's self was on point, i can't even explain how amazing the staffwas, they had our food out on time, frequently checking on us to see if we needed anything, i have never experienced amazingfood and staff, we really appreciate everything you all did to accommodate us and will defiantly be back SOON! We had a wonderful dinner! They have gluten free pasta, breading and gf chocolate cake! Service was great and the food came... fast. We got Thai calamari, Cavatelli, Kitchen Special, Broiled Scallops with marina linguine on the side, fried clams withfries and Tiramisu. Read more
My family and I of 7 tried popei’s for the first time for a birthday dinner and nevertheless it was worth it. Food was... absolutely delicious! Compliments to the chef!!
