I hadn’t been to La Scalia in many years, but my BFF wanted their Cobb salad. We were seated immediately and then forgotten. ... We waited 15 min for water then had to flag down 3 different waiters to bring us water. nb the place was not busy and somewaiters were just standing around. Finally he came to take our order. I have some dietary issues so wanted a piece of grilledsalmon. (We went thru the 5 Easy Pieces scene). Me: I don’t want the bread, lettuce, tomato, dressing, etc. just bring methe salmon. Waiter: I don’t think they can do that. Me: could you check, plz. Waiter: I’ll see but I don’t think it’spossible. He came back and said , reluctantly, OK. I got a piece of grilled salmon, somewhat dry, between 2 pieces ofCiabatta. My friend said she wanted to treat us to the wine, so when the check came she asked for the bottle of wine to be puton a separate check and then we would split the food bill. Again this waiter side it was impossible to do. We asked to see themanager and ask him. The waiter came back about 5 mins later with the wine on a separate bill. I was disappointed with thewhole experience since I had had pleasant memories of La Scalia. It’s such a corner stone of BH restaurants. Read more

Old style restaurant with giant salads and decent but not great food. Efficient and friendly staff. City parking available... opposite. Read more

I went on Saturday by myself to celebrate my birthday, and it was a delightful experience. The waitstaff was incredibly kind and... attentive, and the penne a la vodka was delicious. For Beverly Hills, I found the prices to be reasonable, and I will be comingback! Read more

Not what it used to be and not a place that I would go back to. The service is slow, and attentive and got things wrong several... times. We asked for help repeatedly and we’re eventually told that they are severely understaffed and cannot handle the numberof tables that they have. Likewise, the chop salad was not as good as it used to be, the vehicle was tough and salty and theoverall experience was a disappointment. Avoid this place even if you’re desperate for Italian. A somewhat historic dimly lit fine dining restaurant. Currently they offer patio and indoor dining. Reservation is recommended... if you plan to enjoy your meal after 7PM, as they sometimes will close around 8 if there is no business. The decor is eclecticand welcoming. Mirrored wall on right as you enter. White table cloth, candles and comfortable leather booths. Each table haspainting and different lamp, ambient lighting throughout. There are caricatures or photos of celebrities that have enjoyed ameal that line the top of walls. Hard to see at night because of lighting, so suggest lunch to see them. Small cocktail loungeserving just about anything you desire. There is good choice of entrees including chicken, salmon, steak and veal. You canchoose entree with vegetables or even salad. No dessert menu but choices include tiramisu, chocolate mousse and cheesecake.Fantastic wine and sparkling choices. Limited by glass choices for champagne but you can get split or choose bottle fortable. The food and service were excellent. We both enjoyed different veal entrees that were delicious. Our server waswelcoming, had good sense of humor and was able to make suggestions. For example dessert. We wanted to share something but sheadvised wasn't big enough to share. We ordered 2 different choices and shared! I am fan of old school traditional diningbecause the food and service is usually better. This did not disappoint and we look forward to our next meal here! As far asCOVID protocols, all servers wore face masks. It is recommended but not required to wear mask. There was no social distancingrequired on our visit because it was late evening dining. Our booth was in corner near cocktail lounge. As other patronsentered, they seated them away from our table. It did not appear that patio seating was 6 feet apart but protocols are changing. Really cute atmosphere but not the best customer service. Waited a moment at the host stand before someone seated us, was sat,... then wasn’t served for another 20 mins. Shoutout David S for his attention & speedy delivery of our drinks once we werefinally noticed. Wouldn’t recommend, unless you really don’t have somewhere to be. Read more
