Sadly, not the experience I was looking forward to or expecting. The menu is not terribly diverse. The two main dishes were... Skate and Duck. They were really delicious but unfortunately my husband doesn't care for either of those things and there was noother hearty option for him. I would urge the chef to come up with one of each meat, fish and fowl. And a main vegetarian dishas well. It was a bummer that this night they were without a bartender since I was looking forward to their craft cocktails.Hope they feel better soon and they can get back to it to delight their guests! Otherwise, I thought the food was yummy. If youhave a group with eclectic palates then I would say this is a fun night of shared plates. If there is a picky eater in thebunch, either leave them home or go elsewhere! Read more
Many good things, a few flaws. The outdoor space is excellent. We ordered the entire menu for four of us. The carrots, clam... toast and snap peas stood out. 3 of us had the fish entrée, one had rabbit. The fish came whole, which was not mentioned on themenu. They were small fish with a high bone to meat ratio. It has a challenge not to get a mouthful of bones. While flavorswere good, the bones ruined the dish. Other notes: the wine and cocktail portions are quite small. Wine by the glass was no morethan a 4oz pour, as opposed to the typical 5. Cocktails were very small. Service was spotty, most likely due to the staffingproblems everyone is having. I have 4 stars: when the food hits, it’s great. But there were some notable misses. Read more

Hands down the best, freshest, most creative and delightful cocktails I have ever had. The food was prepared with amazing... attention to detail and every bite was delicious. The kiwi cocktail was a particular favorite of mine. Everywhere you look, youcan see the love and thought that has gone into every inch of the space - from the lights to the family photos on the walls, youcan tell Magnus on Water was put together with the ultimate care. This feels less like going out to eat and more like beingwelcomed into the fantastic imagination of the owners. The staff was extremely kind and attentive. The best place in maine. The experience alone will make you dying to come back. But the customer service is hands down the best... in all of Maine. The food is something even Gordon Ramsey would be proud of. They cater to all of your need while there theyengage with you so your not just a table.
