I loved it! The seating was a little to noisy for my taste, but not a deal breaker. It is new and clean. The service is proper... for an upscale restaurant. The best part is the food. They must have a proper chef! The specials were in fact special. I foundthe portions generous and delicious. I will hit it the next time I go through. This big city restaurant in a small town. Beautiful hotel. My bed was super comfy and shower had great water pressure. Restaurant was closed, so I can't comment on the... food. But they did have coffee and muffins for us in the morning. Read more

Stopped past on the way back to Billings. So very glad we did! Excellent meal, large servings, delicately thin onion rings,... fresh salads, perfectly prepared trout, and the "bar special" beef dinner. Too much to eat it all. Bring your appetite. Expectgreat service & friendly locals. We shall return!! Read more

Stopped for the night at a nearby campground. My daughter and I decided we were wanting to go somewhere to eat rather than cook... in our trailer. Went here for dinner. I was a bit concerned when seeing the prices (most items were roughly what I expected ourentire bill to be or more), but I didn?t feel up to leaving and trying to find another place to eat. I?m so glad we stayed! Thefood was absolutely amazing, as was the service. Very much worth the price. I only wish we lived closer so we could return. Read more

We stopped in for some breakfast. It's buffet style only and I'm so sorry but we were not impressed. The sausage, eggs, salmon... quiche, were not good. The blueberry pancakes were good but the overpowering perfume smell in the dining area was unappetizing. I don't think it's possible that some old lady had that much smell good on to affect the whole area either. Maybe the dinner isbetter but I don't think I could get my wife back in if it always smells that....GOOD! Read more

The dining experience was overall good. Presentation of the food was a little lacking for the environment and cost. The food... itself was ok. The meat on the burger was a little dry and over cooked, it was also slightly below temp when it arrived. Thesweet potato fries were really good and at the proper temperature. The only complaint was that the waitress neglected the waterglasses too often. Read more

New owners = less value. This is NOT a 3-star hotel: there are shared bathrooms, no breakfast, no amenities at all. The new... owners are trying to call this a 3-star hotel by painting the exterior and changing the furniture. A few years ago, underprevious owners, we loved the hotels quirkiness, the hostel- type shared baths and sauna, and the included breakfast and gameroom. Now the dining room focuses on the bar, and noise from the bar comes up the stairs at night. Staff are gone by either 4or 9 p.m. depending on the day, but there are no services to be offered anyway. The added cameras in every hall and entrywaygive the place a big-brother feel instead of the family-friendly place it used to be. While we enjoyed our stay in Big Timber,we find better value at the KOAs around - most of them have pools and breakfast and the cabins have the same level of privacyand comfort as these rooms for lower price. This. Was. Fantastic. Not sure if the bad reviews are from previous owners, but there?s no question that it?s a phenomenal hotel... now! The aesthetic, decor, design were all a perfect blend of old and new. It was very well kept and clean. Shared bathroomsmaybe aren?t ideal, but we had absolutely no problem with them and one was always open. And the bathroom area was alsowonderfully designed/updated with a sauna to boot! The downtown is also very cool with a great bar, bakeries, and smallbusinesses. Would recommend this to anyone looking to stay anywhere near Big Timber. Read more
