Given the choice I will pick taco John's over taco bell 9 out of 10 times. This location has a manager that is fantastic and... really does what they can to keep a great staff and ensure food quality is on point I've never in 10 years had a bad experienceat this location. That all being said know that this is the wonder bread version of Mexican food and don't expect any kind ofauthentic dishes. These tacos and such are intended for folks that think ketchup is spicy. First off, if you want Taco John's in the Heights, you really have to want Taco John's. The access and exit has been and always... will be atrocious, unless you 4WD it across the back lot. That being said, I needed a TJ's fix. The gentleman taking orders atthe drive through was upbeat, friendly, and jovial. He promised hot fresh food and that is just what was delivered. Our orderwas spot on correct as ordered with all the additional condiments, utensils, and other items. A quick trip inside showed a veryclean lobby and a bathroom that appeared to be tended to regularly. With all the bad talk about restaurants and fast food jointsbecause of understaffing and employees who don't care, this was definitely not the case at Billings Heights Taco John's, Monday,Sept 19,2022, approximately 4:30pm. I'm from Louisiana and this was the first time I experienced Taco John's and it wasn't pleasant at all. We ordered a Taco Salad... after waiting awhile we were told there were no shells. Of course we were hungry so we said we would take it without the shell. When we got the salad it had hardly any meat on it. We asked for guacamole but we were told we would have to pay for it. Which we declined. Since they didn't have the shell for the salad they should have given it to us for FREE. Not a pleasantexperience at all. The employees were rude and one of them was cursing. Excited to order breakfast and some cold brew. We watched the staff pour the cold brew from a plastic container similar to one... used for storing cereal. They do this at all locations. One drink and it was clearly bad/sour. Straight into the garbage andhung my head in shame after bragging to my wife about how good of a deal it was compared to her City Brew coffee. Read more
I wish I could leave this review with 0 stars. I have worked in the food industry for over a decade in both fast food and... regular restaurants and I have NEVER had this bad/dishonest of an experience. The dishonest part was we were told the price thatwe would be charged and then were charged over $5 more with no explanation. I had to look at the receipt and realized they leftout information about upgrading sizes on combos. Then my girlfriend found multiple hairs in her food including a cup of sourcream. Needless to say I will not be going to that location again and DO NOT recommend anyone else do either! Read more
