Food is always wonderful and full of flavor, service is top notch, and the selection from the bar and wine menu is very large.
My husband I stayed at the Golden Nugget and he took me to Morton’s for my birthday. This was hands down the BEST meal I have... ever had! The steaks were cooked to perfection and the lobster Mac and cheese was to die for! Do yourself a favor and order thelava cake for dessert, you won’t be sorry! Wife had the bone in rib-eye medium cooked to perfection with a good crust, size and flavor. Can’t say the same for the $72... 24oz Prime Porterhouse though. The steak was too thin to cook to med. rare and get any crust, (See pic) and lucky if it waschoice grade. A very tough piece of meat and NO flavor. $25 Lobster Mac also flavorless. Firstly, the ambiance is swanky and dark. Old school upbeat music and a friendly staff throughout. We travel a lot and have been... to the mediocre to the highest on end places across the country. The expectations standards for this place are set extremelyhigh and that’s what we have based our rating on. Overall, the food was mediocre. We tried many dishes and spent around $350before tip for two people. Starting off, tap ice water was poured and it is not good. Tasted like straight salt water. Which iswhat it is and they did offer bottled water once the server arrived. We elected for that and was brought a large bottle ofPanna. We tried the onion bread which was good. Then the meatball tasted ok but was on the tougher side. The lobster bisque wasdreary unfortunately. Cheesy more than creamy and salty assuming from the local water. We shared a Caesar which was salty aswell again assuming rinsed with local water. They had specials that we ordered from for the main. I selected the Cajun seasoned12oz filet which came with crab and cropped asparagus (Oscar style) and my fiancé selected the Wagyu filet with red winereduction and a seared foie gras. First issue was both steaks were order medium rare and came rare. Definitely edible but underour desired temp and my fiancé’s was cold which was a disappointment because we will not ask a place like this to refire asteak like this. This isn’t outback and they should know without blinking how to get the temps right every time. We also triedthe corn soufflé which was creamed corn topped with cheese and baked. Not what I would consider a soufflé without the airybubbles and cake like taste. Lastly, we ordered crème brûlée which must have been prepared earlier because the top did nothave a fresh hard top. Again, the overall experience was just mediocre and the cost is not in line with the experience youshould be expected. What can I say except that I really enjoyed this restaurant! This was a date night that was fabulous. Between the friendliness... of the staff, the nice romantic feel of the restaurant, and how efficient and perfect the food was cooked. I can't wait to goback! Read more
