An awesome 1895 vintage hotel, with all the modern amenities (and a top-notch bar and restaurant; we esp. loved the Cora's... breakfast and the White House Coffee), across the street from the ocean! When driving up to The White House Hotel we were in awe. Beautiful, Stunning, Breath Taking!!! The Lobby, Bar and Cora's... Restaurant was stunning! The staff was friendly and very welcoming! My husband and I came down from Tennessee for our 10 year anniversary and this was the perfect place to stay. I love the history... and beauty of the house and the staff were fantastic! We stayed 3 nights in a King room and were very comfortable. The staffadorned the bed with a sweet gesture before we arrived. That was a sweet touch! I will say that we may want to upgrade to asuite on the next floor up next time to really get a beautiful view of the Gulf across the street but all in all, it was a verynice room with comfortable accommodations. We enjoyed the pool several times while we were there, many times in the lateevening. We only wish we could have seen the pool lit in the evening and that the jacuzzi was operating as well as the wet barlocated near the pool. But it was very relaxing and the furniture around the pool was incredibly comfortable. The hotel barstaff was wonderful. We had Frank in the evening and he made incredible drinks and the hotel restaurant, Cora's, was beautifuland we had an incredible breakfast and night cap dessert. We will be returning again and hope this hotel continues to see manyguests! Read more
Loved the pictures of the White House Hotel online. When I read the hotel's history I was hooked. Booked through the hotel's... website. Wanted a specific view from the room. We got exactly what we hoped for. Our room was enormous. All of the staff wasvery professional. Order an "Old Fashioned" at the bar. It was perfect. The food we ordered from Cora's Restaurant was amazing.Love, love the pool. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Felt very old school classy without being pretentious. Read more
Spent 5 days here and absolutely loved it. Our room was an ocean view and it was a beautiful view. Everyone there was so nice... and kind, they were very diligent at keeping every common area clean. We are already planning our next stay and many many thankyou's to Precious who kept me stocked with fresh towels, Frank, Rachel and Bennie at the bar for some real great drinks!! Untilnext time!!!?? This was one of the coolest hotels Ive ever stayed in... a massive outdoor pool, huge rooms, and a great bar and restaurant. The... history of this hotel is all around you as they did a great job telling the story through pictures all over the walls of thehotel. This is located directly across the street from the ocean... the views are magnificent! Very pretty and very well ranestablishment! Read more
Stayed four nights. I did not experience the restaurant, but two nights in a row I had a nightcap at the bar, and watching some... of the other patrons receiving food made my mouth water!! I had limited interaction with the staff, but those I did were veryfriendly, and helpful when asked. The room was on the back side, so my view was the parking lot, but it was only a few steps tothe front where you could sit on the front porch, or sit on a balcony overlooking the pool area, or down at the pool itself.Lovely. From the moment we walked into this historic hotel we received the red carpet treatment.The property is beautiful and the staff... top notch. Our 3 night stay began when we checked in with Fran. She is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We dined atCora?s all three nights. The food is that good! Julie was our server each night. She too was professional, efficient andprovided us with a personal touch. Jeremy, the chef , came by our table and checked on us. He offered a new dish -Ya Ya Gumboand a crab cake special. Both delicious. Frank and Bennett were great in the bar. They catered to our every need as we watchedthe Alabama game. Randy, the general manager, goes above and beyond to make guest feel special. He was picking up trash in thefront lawn while talking with guest and offering water. The White House Hotel is our place for Cruisin the Coast. We are lookingforward to being there next year!
