The place was quite nice. It's not very large but I think that added to the cozy calm feeling of the dining area. The waiter was... very polite and the things he suggested were fabulous. Food is mediocre at best. Service is good. Environment is casual fast food. Sadly disappointing. I moved here from Los Angeles.... Have to believe the good reviews are because people haven’t had better. Hope Birmingham can do better than this because thisisn’t. Read more
My first visit to Chuck’s was this evening. I had heard nice reviews prior to this but unfortunately, my experience was... basically a 2 or 3 star. My biggest concern was the poor service. I believe our staff person was in over her head and unable tohandle the customers she had been given. The food was good but it took over 25 minutes for us to place our order and even then Ihad to track down another employee to help us. The atmosphere is pleasant and I was so looking forward to this dining occasion.I will give them another visit but am a bit apprehensive with my expectations. Read more
Found Chuck’s by accident while out on a Jeep ride with my wife. Walked in without a reservation and was seated immediately... (Sunday evening). My wife got the fillet - she shared a few bites - never had one any more tender or flavorful. Grilled snapperwas perfect - grit cakes are amazing, garlic potatoes are excellent. Bread pudding was awesome. This place is pricey, but thequality of food was top notch. The only criticism I could make would be to please stem the strawberries when you garnish withthem because I love strawberries! We will definitely be back and bring some friends with us! Read more

Amazing catch of the day! The swordfish and the Gulf Red Snapper was terrific. We really enjoyed their signature grit awesome.... If one should rank the " top seafood restaurants " and leave Chuck's Fish off their list , it would be a shame. Moreover, theservice was great and we saw the staff sanitize between customers. Came here to celebrate my birthday dinner. The restaurant is nice and the ambience was cute, romantic with dim lighting. There... is a cold draft so bring a sweater. For a Tuesday night this place was crowded so be sure to make reservations. The food wasgood. We ordered the calamari, super crunchy shrimp roll, the bronzed grouper, and the gulf fish parmadine. I read reviewsraving about the sushi but it was mediocre, nothing special about it. Our dishes were delicious and the combination of sidesthey come with complimented the seafood very well!
