Hands down one the best Mexican restaurants in town. Adds unique twist to the familiar Mexican food. Plantain Nachos with... grilled vegetables, vegetables quesadillas, vegeterian chili relano, potato taquitos are a must try. Staff is more than happyto replace meat with vegetables. Tres leches with roasted peaches, pecans and dolce de leche will end your meal on a perfectnote. Restaurant is always packed, but opting for community style seating can help you get the seating quickly. Paid parkingnext to the restaurant or street parking are the only options. Read more

Was visiting Alabama for 2 days and so happy I found this place! The food was perfect and fresh. So flavorful. My sister and I... inquired if they had vegan options and Yes, they did! The bartender Stephen, was extremely helpful, professional and kind. Inthe 2 days we were in Alabama we ate here twice. Oh and their coffee is the Best! I highly highly recommend El Barrio! Read more
Fabulous good quality food at reasonable prices! I loved the steak tacos! The tortillas were soft, fresh and tasted homemade.... Great sauce, slaw and good quality sirloin steak. The meatloaf was also good! Beautiful job on presentation. The chicken andrice soup was hearty and a good portion size (for the smaller size). El Barrio was wonderful! I loved how there was hand sanitizer and QR code menus at every single table - definitely showed their... emphasis on cleanliness! Our server was great ? he was SO friendly and on top of it. The food was delicious - one of the bestmeals we?ve had between our recent ventures to New Orleans, Alabama, and Mississippi.
